No where does it say its not mandatory. It plainly says if the 16th falls on a weekend or banking holiday then everyone will be payed on the 15th.

It does not say "We will try to pay on the 15th or we might pay on the 15th" it says everyone will be payed.

Wording like that in a contract does not leave room for interpretation, its plainly says we were supposed to be paid on the 15th and for whatever reason we were not. That is a violation of the JCBA.

What can we do about? Not much. Hopefully it doesnt happen again.

100% correct, plain english in the JCBA.

I am more so concerned with the number of pilots I here on the forums defending the practice of a company paying their employees when they want. The one new hire who gave a "in their defense" excuse is a joke. The company has screwed with many of our pilots this year regarding pay and they continue to screw up.

There is no excuse for the continued F-ups by this company, no excuse (and I am someone who got paid and I am still upset for those who did not, especially those who are tight on the finances)

Some of you guys are too tightly wound. I was trying to bring some levity to the situation by saying, being how the cutoff for this paycheck was the 8th, and my date of hire is the 11th, I'm willing to cut them some slack. I'm not really defending anything. It was a joke, pure and simple. I shouldn't have received anything, but it's odd they chose to pay us just a uniform allowance.

I thought the joke was obvious. Apologies to anyone who misunderstood.

I don't know about you but my baby mamma wants her money on time every month. When she doesn't get paid, she gets really ugly. You might have heard of her, Sallie Mae.

I hope some Colgan folks are gonna take a stand and refuse to work when their paycheck isn't in the bank. I can't call my mortgage company and say "I didn't get paid, so I'm gonna be late with the house payment". That stuff doesn't fly with them, and it shouldn't fly with the pilots of Colgan either.

And before people jump on me, no - it isn't an illegal work stoppage. It's actually quite simple:Pay me.

My landlord charges $50 per day for every day my check is late. Maybe we should do that too!

Why can't we just grieve the late pay issue? Its in the contract, they did not follow the contract, so we grieve it. Hold their feet to the fire.

I'm tired of reading your apology letters Harry and Buddy. How many times can you screw up payroll before you get fired at PCL? Playing with my money is like playing with my emotions.
