Default how long is typical upgrade at AWAC?

i know things can change in a heartbeat but any word on upgrade length, it seems like awac is a company were you typically have a lot of lifers like horizon so im wondering if its 6+ years?

Yes, AWAC has more than a few lifers (the senior 15-20% has been with the company 10+ years) but upgrade is currently running about 3 years. Captains I've flown with have upgraded anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 years. Historically, 3-4 years seems to be the norm from what I've heard.

I don't think he was asking about captain job, but I agree AWAC would not do that.

If your 121 time was at scenic, airlines really consider that to be more 135 in nature since it is nothing like airline flying. The turbine time will help some, but many airlines don't budge on the mins...if you really want to try, get somebody to walk your resume in. That way you avoid the computer screening for minimums.

AWAC has been hiring (well) below their published minimums.

1000/100 you're probably good, below that if you have good experience & ME time they seem to compensate for lower total times. At least this was the case around the time I was hired; recently there have been alot of former 121 guys hired (some of which were under 1000tt).

A buddy of mine is in class with them right now. He applied with 1000 TT and 700 ME Turbine and didn't get a call. He updated a bunch. Nothing. Finally he had a pilot walk his stuff in and he got a call less than 2 weeks later.

Send your stuff in yesterday...never hurts to! I'd suggest email and fax, updating every 3-4 weeks.

You will get a call faster if you have somebody who currently works at AWAC send your stuff into Employee Relations.
