You must be thinking of another airline. As someone mentioned if you had CRJ time at mesa they would take you with 800-850 TT.

Do they require an ATP written to be hired on now?

FAPInbound 05-24-2011 12:07 PM

It's not required to get hired but it eliminates the written test at the interview. So, one less hurdle to jump.

So how hard is it to build another 100 hours to meet the mins?

Why do pilot "wonder school" kids get reduced minimums in the first place? No fancy class or degree can replace real world experience, confidence, and skill. I guess that is another thread though...

are they hard on the ME mins?

I think so, I've never heard of anyone getting a break on that.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I've heard the 100 multi is non-negotiable because of SkyWest's insurance policy. Sounded reasonable to me.

It definitely seems reasonable, and although the Brasilia is a nice flying airplane, I can't imagine how challenging the training would be if one were really low time.

Actually, as of this month the ATP written is now a requirement to get an interview. No more written exam at the interview.

I received an e-mail from the UAL furlough coordinator yesterday that they are offering June and July classes to furloughees, but I can't imagine that anyone is taking them anymore.
