Have all the furloughee's been offered a j4j? Or are there still guys on that list who haven't been offered a position?

I would imagine some still out of a job might take it now that the emb hiring has tapered off and den and slc are going to new hires.

Actually, as of this month the ATP written is now a requirement to get an interview. No more written exam at the interview.

Where did you get this info?

You actually place your name on the list for a Jet only or any aircraft if you are interested They then interview those furloughed pilots that have volunteered in seniority order when a class is available. Believe the only rule is that you can not have turned down a job offer. I have not yet volunteered and used that opportunity.

About how long would it take to be an EMB capt?

In 2007 it was less than one year (if you have the turbine and 121 time from a previous employer).

Right now it's about 4.5 years, but there is no obvious sign of significant growth or attrition. For a new hire today it could be 8-10, although a massive major airline hiring spree (if it happens) would tend to alleviate that.

Most recent EMB upgrade was 4.5 years. He has about 900 pilots that are junior to him, and we have a total of 200 something EMB captains. However, that means nothing when it comes to future upgrades, for newhires it could be less than 2 years, or more than a decade.

Trying to get some info about the open house event at Sky Park in SLC next weekend. Will there be recruiters, interviews, fly a sim, etc.

Thanks

Never chase an upgrade!

When your number gets pulled is completely out of your control and hinges upon too many variables. My advice is do your research in order to make an educated guess on what company has a solid future and then chose which one fits you. Once on board try to learn as much as you can and be patient, your upgrade will come when it comes.

There were very junior people in both the first EMB and CRJ classes last fall so I'd say it's highly likely the list has been completely gone through - probably more than once.

I've got a couple of questions about being a new hire at Skywest.

Is it possible to get SLC right out of training?
Is per diem paid during training?
What is the approximate time right now to get off reserve and for upgrade?

Thanks
