Wow, he's only 42 and they are calling him a "veteran" CEO?

Age is only a number... first impressions will be crucial with our bruised and beaten pilot group. I like what I've read and heard about this guy. Finally something to get excited about.

The Frontier people would take Sean back in a heartbeat. When he left Republic, it was a very deflating thing for the Frontier group.

Menke did not mesh with Brian Bedford and a few other of his VP's - plus Menke had gone from de-facto running Frontier to being a VP underneath a guy who knew nothing about running a major airline.

Menke and his team at Frontier saved the airline when no one thought it could be saved. As someone who's met Sean, I'm very happy to see him back in the business - good man.

Didn't Dick Anderson run two in before getting the helm at Delta?

Anderson was one of the most respected CEO's at Northwest ever... he left in 2003 I believe. Then went to United Healthcare and then Delta.

So... no.

Can we share him? Or is Inc. going to claim him for themselves.

Anderson left Continental in 1990. Within a year Continental was in BK.

Anderson left Northwest in 2004. Within a year Northwest was in BK.

Maybe it is the lack of Anderson that causes bankruptcy, or maybe the guy just knows when to jump ship.

He knows when to jump ship. There was apparently a dispute on whether or not to take NW into BK and he left over it.

Fair enough. Besides, we both know executive bungling never hurt anyone. It's actually greedy pilots that force airlines into Ch11.

Here's an old article about him.
