More good news....
WASHINGTON — Federal aviation officials are proposing a $425,000 fine for a regional carrier that flies short haul flights for Delta and United airlines. The carrier, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, is accused of flying planes that had been struck by lightning without performing required maintenance checks. The Federal Aviation Administration said Thursday that Atlantic Southeast, flying under the name Delta Connection, flew two airliners a total of 13 times after they had been struck by lightning before making the required inspections. The lightning strikes took place in 2008. Airlines are supposed to conduct a detailed check for damage after a lightning strike. The discrepancy was found by an FAA inspector. An airline spokeswoman said she was reviewing the proposed fine. Atlantic Southeast is a subsidiary of SkyWest Inc., which also operates SkyWest Airlines. |
Well as bad as the letter was earlier this week the update today was just as good. I was really impressed with the author. His and the other upper upper management's street cred went up in my book. Not the previous middle management letter and half-assed apology.
Responsibility was taken while still using numbers and facts to show their side of the story... It feels worse/the same as 2010 but numbers don't lie. Just furthers the point that it's the efficiency not the staffing. |
Just pulled out the 2007 contract with the seniority list in it. I believe we have MORE flying and MORE A/C then we did then, or at VERY least the same.
List was 1864 numbers in 2007. In the April 2011 list we only have 1707 people. So what numbers is the company showing us? The ones they want us to believe maybe? |
I think it was 1739 in the latest seniority list.

I don't know what block hours were in 2007.
Either way it is a BIG step in the right direction. |

Either way it is a BIG step in the right direction. Huh? We have LESS people trying to do MORE. I don't know what block hours are either, but last year they bragged about flying more than anytime in the history of ASA. And this year they are saying we are flying more than last year. |
