Default SkyNet Becomes Self Aware, Causes Delays...

Denver Post article

Apparently UAL is experiencing some computer problems. This is what they get for naming their system "SkyNet."

I love this dude's quote:

"I have avoided flying United for about 4 years," Renwick said. "I had to cave in this time because of where I'm going and this is what happens."

It appears UA suffered a system wide computer outage of the program that prints and scans boarding passes. As a result 'manual' passes where being issued but at some point the TSA got involved and said no more boarding with manual passes. At that point flights either departed half full or not at all.

If skynet became self aware it would go back to school for an advanced degree and get out of the airline business.
