Reduced Eagle mins & PIC?
With the new reduced hiring minimums at Eagle is the 250 PIC requirement still in place for those applying with 500/50? I've searched and couldn't come up with anything to explain or answer that question. They website only says "preferred."
Thanks! |
How many PIC hours would someone have if they have less than 250 PIC, but have at least 500/50?
|
I believe we have had a few folks get on in the past with less than 250PIC. Now, the pic time will will be a factor when it comes time to upgrade, in order to meet the requirements for an ATP certificate.

anybody getting in with less than 500tt?

I am willing to bet since the announcement of the new guaranteed AA spot, those getting hired will be at least 800/100, but with that being said dont stop applying. Eagle was having trouble filling classes.
|
I'm not going to publish mine until I hit that 500 hour mark in the next month or two.
|
Don't wait. You never know, you may get a call right away. I was told by an American captain to put in my apps with the majors as a new hire here at eagle. I thought he was crazy but you just never know.

Man, these threads make me sad. How low can we go?

Give it time...when this amazingly huge endless hiring boom begins, you know there will be guys out there that get in with a commercial/multi and nothing beyond that.
Yep, then when it stops and the furloughs start those same guys cant get jobs doing anything, because even the most basic CFI jobs want 1000 ttl with 250 instructing, and the $10/hr C182 skydive jump jobs suddenly go to 500-1000TTL with 50 flying jumpers. Then those same people get stuck for 2 years trying to get one of those jobs till the regional start hiring again. Just the way the cycle goes I guess. Sucks to the be the ones who start flight school when mins are 250TTL for a regional, just to finish training to find out you need 250 MORE hours to even get a CFI gig. |
Someone got hired with bare bones 190 hours a few years ago. Recently at least one got hired with 250. Don't wait to apply.

I'd love a chance to fly those ATR's before they get parked.. Don't know when I will get that chance, when will I get called by Eagle....... |
whats the pass rate through training with such low time guys. At RAH, we are hiring 1000-2500 total time plus 100-200 multi and have a pass rate of about 20%
Also flying the ATR is a very good expierence. you will learn alot about flying in that airplane. |
I applied last week with 2200 total/160 multi and got a rejection email 2 days later. Didn't even get an interview. Any ideas why?
|
Not enough info Jeff. You current? Anything on your record? Current flying gig? Degree?
Lots of stuff Eagle is particularly...particular about. |
Also are you positive everything was absolutely complete (especially the addendum)?? I would go back through your app with a fine tooth comb to make sure. The email you got (provided it was the first) was automatic. Good luck...

Yeah not sure what you mean by pass rate, but 20% seems insanely low. We were broken up into groups when ground school started and in our group of 8, at least 3 are gone. It's not easy and it's not for everyone. Some people just quit cause it's not what they expected it to be. Not the case in our class but I know of people in other classes.
|
Isn't Eagle supposed to hire like 670-700 guys this year or something? Are they going to make that? Is there anyone left out there that wants to work at Eagle, has enough time, and can make it through training?

yes i have an idea why. as i said, i was in the july 21st interview class and 1 of 13 got hired. the day before my interview eagle announced it was being sold or will have a spin-off company. they also announced that current eagle pilots and those hired before the middle of october will eventually be given the opportunity to flow into american airlines. they went from a few hundred applications to being flooded with them.

Only 1 of 13 were hired that day!? any specific reason for this? I have an interview coming up and am more/less on the low end time wise which would require me to go to ATP before a class date. this makes me very nervous. |
Just heard from an AE crew that they will be out of applicants in Oct???? Said they get 1 resume per day. They are calling guys they passed over, guys at other regionals, and guys that haven't updated their AE app for 1+ years.
When I applied you had to be in a current flying job, so I wasn't interviewed. cliff HNL |

But!!!!, being hired means "Be in class in Oct 11 or before". Hiring date at eagle is your first day of class. So, it can take up to 2 months to get in class.

If not, can U pls share what went wrong & why U think so... if U don't mind sharing.... It will help others not to repeat the mistake...... |

and how do you know they are being "flooded" with resumes? that is just a rumor like all the others. no one knows for sure. a guy after you just stated that they are running out of applicants! not saying that is true either but it just goes to show how informed everyone really is.. i don't think they would have lowered their mins if they anticipated to be flooded with resume's. there has to be another reason why only 1 out of 13 would get the offer. did you feel that your interview had went well?

I spent all of last year unemployed and was required to make two contacts a week to receive my benefits. One particular week there weren't any legitimate contacts so I started looking for ghost contacts to apply to. I decided to apply to Eagle to get that weeks UI money. One look at the AirlineApps B.S. and said screw this and blasted an email and resume off to some joker in China off of 350.com
It appears to me that the applicants to Eagle have logged more time filling out AirlineApps.com than actually flying. SCARY stuff! |

and that is exactly why eagle has all of the sudden become way more selective. if you get into eagle now you are eligible to transition to american airlines.........do you really think they want to provide just anybody with that golden opportunity? here is your answer, 1 in 13
The answer in your same question is simple, something went wrong with the 12 of you. You'll never know, since they never say why. It might be a traffic ticket, a busted checkride, bad HR answer, bad sim or bad tech interview. Who knows? But they will never tell you. I've know guys with more that 8,000hrs, with more than 15 yrs of experience in aviation getting their apps declined, didn't passed the interview, or get declined in the Review Board. |

Eagle is making a significant investment in anyone they bring in the door so even though they are desperate they won't waste all that money training somebody that might not make it all the way through. |
They WERE running out of applicants a couple weeks ago (were down below 100 at the time). I have heard that they really are flooded now. Amazing how quickly they can go from hiring 11/13 in one interview group, and then almost overnight switch to 1/13... They still need to hire alot this year and a bunch in 2012 so hopefully they dont look over a lot of good applicants....Its been known to happen in recent times....
|
Yeah, God forbid you should actually get a job that you had to fill out a real application. You sir, are a prime example if why many of us are fed up with Govt programs. You have the ability to work, but obviously choose to milk the system instead. Unemployed with nothing to do and can't be bothered to even fill out a job application? You are a disgrace.
End rant |
Got the pre-offer over a week ago. Just waiting on the board. Looks like I'll be waiting till next week though. Still need my AZ letter of no record. They royally screwed up and sent me a packet for a revocation of a suspended license, and I've never had an AZ license. The wait continues.
