SJU is a good place to live, for sure the rent is cheaper than MIA, ORD, NY, LAX, DFW. lol!!!

The commute to MIA is easy, but I don't think you'll get stuck in SJU, is shrinking slowly.

I don't know about cheaper than the other bases SJU is expensive but definitely fun.

I am supposed to find out today when my class starts, next week I think. However, I am hopeing someone who is a current Eagle pilot can look in the system and tell me, in their opinion, where the most junior bases are right now. I have heard that MIA ERJ then LGA ERJ and DFW ERJ in that order are the most junior. Is this right?
I just want to make the best decision and this is only one if the factors.
Thanks for the help.

Don't let your option be based on solely the chance of holding a line sooner. There is allot of movement at AE happening right now. LAX is the most senior base and is rather small. MIA/ERJ at this time is junior but you will probably never see significant movement (getting the good trips) because most pilots there are senior to you but very junior in the company and thus movement will be slow there. PLEASE, concern yourself with the other QOL factors, are you moving to this place, can you afford to live in MIA compared to DFW. What base would have the easiest commute, different carriers and how many J/S do these airplanes have, are there allot of commuters on this route. 1st year pay is the same, what is the fastest way to a line today will not be tomorrow. DFW was the most senior base 6 months ago, now is becoming extremely junior.

Mia is not a good choice, its filling up and is mostly new guys like the guy above me said. It will see little movement soon, and you would be the bottom of a very junior pile.

LGA EMJ is very senior right now, but IMHO is setup to see explosive movement over the next year because most of the FO base are late 06 to 07 hires, so they are coming up to upgrade, and it will be a ghost town, since there are like 2 guys there hired since March 10.

Congratulations on the class date! I hope you get the base and equipment you prefer.

I have a few easy questions if you don't mind.

1) When did you interview?

2) When did you hear you had been hired?

3) When were you invited to a class?

Thanks for the answers.

They keep shrinking ORD EMJ it seems. Down roughly 50 lines from last year at this time and about 70 pilots. I've beeen here 4 years and still can't hold weekends off.

Bid by equipment not base. Vacancy bids have been coming out almost monthly with openings to move to almost any base. So if you want Miami, bid the ERJ or the ATR. Chances are the ATR will be SJU out of the gate cause most transfer out to DFW or MIA. Living in base is priceless so bid the equipment that will allow that to happen.

Thanks.

Does the drug test come after you have been approved by the decision committee?
