Logbook Pro is probably the best $50 I've spent in my life. When I need to put totals on job applications or on my resume I can just click a button and get my totals for the last however many days, months or years. It can sort by aircraft too which made filling out airline apps really simple. It also keeps track of currency, and you can add new columns for whatever you want. I have a column that keeps track of point to point cross country time as well as 50+ mile cross country time for instance.

I think my favorite feature is that whenever I finish a page in my paper logbook I can cross check the totals with logbook pro before I write them down in pen. It's really helped me clean up my logbook and it makes pin pointing the errors really easy.

Logbook pro seems to be the norm, but it can get really expensive with the $50 for the base, $90 for the pro, and there are extras that you can add on to suit your tastes.

I've used both LogTen Pro and Logbook Pro--both are good. To me, LogTen's interface, syncing, and reports are what set it ahead of Logbook Pro.

What I haven't found (yet) is a binder that doesn't look like some godawful high school arts and crafts project. All of the binders I've seen are cheap leather, with tacky gold trim; it more or less looks like someone went to Staples, bought a $35 chart case, cut it up, and turned it into an electronic logbook binder.

The only binder that ever caught my eye was the NC Old World binder which, for whatever reason, they opted to stop producing.

Throw some 35/40lb eggshell/tan paper in the printer, get Kinkos to cut and punch the paper, and it's a done deal.

The interface for starters. I always thought Logbook Pro looked and felt like a 'fancy' Excel spreadsheet. LogTen Pro is an actual program, it looks and acts like it. I know I'm probably arguing aesthetics, but it makes a difference IMO.

In addition to that, the amount of reports available is amazing. You can print out an 8710 right from the program. On AirlineApps? It has a report for that, all you have to do is click "AirlineApps Report" and it spills all your times out for you to fill right in. No legwork to do at all. There are hundreds of available reports and logbook formats that are available with a single click. All are available on the iPhone app too, so you can update your times on the 8710 at the sim, or shoot out a current resume on the road.

There are many other little things that make a difference, but the iPhone integration is the most important to me. I can plug times into LogTen Pro for the iPhone each leg. During the trip, I can see at a snapshot how we're doing on 30/7, duty time and other 'time out' parameters. They are even programmable to adhere to more restrictive union contract duty/flight times. When I get home from a trip, all I have to do is be on the same wireless network as my MacBook and sync my iPhone up, all times are transferred.

The new version coming out soon will have a lot more goodies in it, I was just looking at it on the Coradine Aviation site. Can't wait for the upgrade to come out.

I know I probably sound like a walking advertisement, but this program has really simplified and revolutionized the way I keep a logbook. I don't even keep a written log anymore. It's saved so much time and work, especially when filling out AirlineApps, an 8710 or just logging your flight time.

Looks like you have to buy LogTen every year??? Wow! I see people complaining that recently purchased and now Coradine updated their apps such that people no longer can update their existing apps on the App Store. So you have to pay $150/year for the desktop app, and $49/$79 every year to get an update to the iPhone/iPad apps?

Not true. You only pay if you want to upgrade to the next version. The same way you would pay if you want to go from Microsoft Office 2007 to 2011. Updates within the version platform are free. I have never paid anything year to year unless I want to upgrade to another version.

Seems like there are a lot of LogTen supporters out there. I'd like to offer an alternative that I use on my iPhone. An APP developed by a CAL pilot called FltCrewiLog is only $20 (one time) and works great. Best part is that it will automatically connect to CrewTrac and download my pairings so all I have to do is fill in the OOOI's and approaches. Then I export to a generic CSV file. I upload those files to Logbook Pro, but any spreadsheet program will work fine.

Best logging program i've used. Simple interface, ability to use SafelogWeb (so recruiters can see your logbook on the Internet) and it's android and pc based. Best by far.
