Default CHQ's MCO base

Do you guys and gals think that Chautauqua's MCO base will be open for a while or do you think that pretty soon they are going to close that base like they did with the FLL base? Do you think that pretty soon, Delta will be letting go of CHQ and then they will only be flying under AA, UAL, USAir and CAL (in the future)? I am asking because I will hopefully be in the regionals within the next few years (and yes I know that things change like the weather in the airlines) and MCO would be a perfect base for me. Thanks in advance to all of you that reply.

if you know things change like the weather, then any answer given would be pointless. especially a few years from now

Not trying to be rude but I pray for the day when people can just answer my questions.

I'm not with CHQ, but MCO has been downsized quite a bit and was ready to die until Freedom's DAL operation fell apart. With the Delta RFP, MCO could close or it could grow...nobody knows. I can tell you it was one of the more senior FO bases at RAH, and the only way you'd be there is if you get the 145; out of luck if assigned to Shuttle or Republic.

Best advice is MCO's fate will be decided after the announcement of the DAL RFP.

Ive been with CHQ since Feb. I live in MCO (based in SDF) and it will be a long time (if ever) before I get based in MCO. It is very very senior. They did recall a few of the displacements, but only 3 or 4.

Dude, seriously, you didn't ask a question that could be answered. There are just too many variables.

It would be like asking "I will be ready to marry in 3 years. Does anyone know who I will be married to, how many kids we will have, and where we will live?".

What you're asking even the pros on wall street can't answer...

Please don't pick an airline just for a base that you like. That is the worst thing you could do. I know someone that picked CHQ only for the FLL base, and didn't get it out of training, and then it closed just a few months later. Not a smart move.

You'll be married to a transvestite named Chuck, you'll live in the Castro district in San Francisco, and you'll have 4 Yorkie Terriers- named Flaps, Gear, Rudder and RJ.

Sorry guys, that one was ripe for the picking.
