Default Eagle Contract Questions

Just got hired and need some insight before assignments, please.

1) Before class begins, do you put your bid in as to which aircraft/base you want depending on what they need at that time, then based on birthday, you get what you get?

2) Can you go from EMB to CRJ and vice versa? How about from ATR to EMB or CRJ? If so, how long is seat lock?

3) I live in south Florida, so I want MIA. What if they don't have any EMB or ATR available for our class, am I screwed and going to be CRJ & commuting forever?

4) Any other big items concerning base and equipment that would be good info for newhires would be greatly appreciated.

I think the Eagle Life thread that has 400 pages is ridiculous to go through if you are searching for specific answers. Don't see anything wrong with starting a new thread for a more specific topic.

Thanks in advance...

Not sure what has changed since I left;

1. When class starts (or some point early in indoc), the "vacancies" for class bid are presented and it basically goes by class seniority, which is determined by age (oldest, most senior).

2. & 3. If you want MIA , bid aircraft that are based there (I'd go EMB first, then ATR). If you bid CRJ (or are forced into the CRJ due to junior-in-class status), I believe, you'd have to be displaced out of the CRJ to get to MIA into either of the two aircraft there. Bid EMB at the easiest commuting domicile (if you can't get MIA immeadiately) and just place MIA in your monthly bid (same with ATR).

4. Been gone for awhile, so in addition to clarification of the above by current Eagle pilots, they could help you with this.

thats spot on, and hasnt changed in years. A simple search and 10 minutes of reading would have saved this forum a brand new thread. Esp one that sounds like its going to be someone asking about our actual contract.

I love when people voluntarily come on this forum, and voluntarily click on threads and then tell you to search and ask why you post a new thread........

Anyways, I doubt you are going to be "forced" into the CRJ. The CRJ usually goes pretty fast in class and there aren't many slots anyways. MIA EMJ has dominated the previous 2 or 3 classes, and I'm sure will come back around.

In a nutshell, bid the base you want. If they don't have the base, bid an airframe that is in that base. Period. You can put in your transfer first day of class, but it might take a month or 3 before it takes place.

I love when people make posts that are repetitive.

Pilots HAVE been forced into the CRJ for more then one reason. It's not unheard of.

The above is exactly what I suggested. Something new would've been more helpful, rather then sneering at others pointlessly.

Too much brew this evening ?

So 400 pages of people talking about a company your about to go work for is "ridiculous"? Ever think that some of those post might be from current employees with good insight to inside info and experiences??? Sounds like your excuse for being lazy. With that type of demeanor I'd be more concerned about just making it through training...

From: 1st year pay for the 3rd time
Default Seat locked

To the OP,

Keep in mind if you bid either jet you will be seat locked until you upgrade. If you bid the ATR your seat lock is only for 1 year. Year 1 pay is the same regardless of which plane you fly. The ATR's are based in Miami, DFW, and SJU.

Otherwise as stated above, bid with your base preference first then equipment.

Good luck in training.

Bid the atr. You will be able to have a much bigger and better pic in a year of mia emj and the company without a seat lock.
