You must have been on a turbulent flight when you read it.

The airline should NOT settle with this woman for anything. They need to spend the extra money to win in court. This will prevent a dangerous precedent being established that would open the door to more lawsuits.

Seriously! Your CLL is like our CHO up here. Right along the ridge line and bumby as all get out during the Spring and Summer. Also, if you are looking for an even shorter thrill ride, try JST-AOO or CKB-MGW! Crazy short flight followed by a short field landing! LOL!

I would think that the airlines would fight for it to make sure this kind of stuff won't make others want to do it too. I mean encountering turbulence is pretty rare in the this industry.....

THIS! - You don't want to fall victim to paying out nuisance value when spending a little more going to trial and winning would dampen anyone else's hopes of filing a similar lawsuit.

This is the type of person who we all know would be the first one b*tching at the gate agent had they cancelled the flight due to weather. Then she would have sued for lost revenue due to the fact that she missed her meeting, thus preventing job advancement, which resulted emotional anguish because she then felt worthless as a human being. I just feel bad for the pilots who have to endure the lawyers questioning every little decision they made.

The pilot's testimony should be easy.

"I, like almost every other pilot or passenger, encounter turbulence on each flight I make. I have completed hundreds of flights since the flight in question and don't recall any details about the turbulence on said flight two years ago."

She'll be the one to complain most loudly next time her flight is delayed due to weather.....

I'm going to start suing my students after they make crappy approaches and hard landings. I "fear for my life" every time!

Wait... this could actually make a CFI job profitable! Whoa!
