9E/XJ/9L Uniforms
Does anyone have any insider info on uniforms once everything is merged up...
per the merger Q&A (updated last week) it said a common uniform option has been chosen but they didnt want to release the details...I seriously need some new pants, A displacement for me to 9E is coming for sure, so I don't want to buy new ones if I know I'm going to be switching Uni's |
You will not be required to pay for your uniform. Make yours last!
|
Might as well buy a pair by the time you get displaced it will be next year
|
I think its pretty safe to say that the final uni will be black and gold. Delta is our largeat partner and they are black and gold. I just hope the hat remains optional because I look like a tool shed with mine on.

Hat is optional that's already in the contract. No regional/major cares what eachothers uniform is. I bet it's blue and silver, as there are probably more Colgan/mesaba pilots than just pinnacle. That would save them money and we know that's the bottom line. I do want black, however it's easiest to match.

I know my blues aren't the same. I buy pants from Macy's and those things never match.
|
FWIW in recurrent last week, it was said that black and gold will be the common uniform.

9E MEMO # 11-04 "Uniform pants must come from the approved uniform vendor, wearing Dockers, Dickies or any other type of black slack is not approved." However I still see people wearing Dockers/Haggar/Whatever with tag showing. Kinda tacky. |
Who is the uniform vendor for PCL? Please dont say it is M&H

Saabs wears what he wants and if they want to take my pants off to see what brand it is I'm pretty sure I'll tell them I don't undress at work. And the only person I've ever seen wear dockers also has a duffle bag he uses and is super senior and now is in 900 training as we speak. |

You have to be kiddin. I dont know anyone that wears the m&h stuff. Get a life
That M&H stuff turns into cardboard after a few days, worthless. I don't think it matters, but I have seen guys in tactical BDU cargo pants which is a bit of a stretch. I haven't worn anything M&H since the first week on IOE. Just don't be stupid about it. If I were mgmt I would be more concerned with the pullovers and North Face jackets guys wear as part of their uniforms. Just because most of us are homeless doesn't mean we have to look like it. |

I wouldn't mind wearing a Navy Blue uniform with Gold stripes like the old NWA uniforms. Pretty snazzy looking.
|
Black pants is where it's at cause there are so many to choose from when you buy.

Yep...There stuff is good quality, if you can find the right fit or get it tailored.

The only uniform issued item I still wear is my blazer... Haggars from Kohls were the best, about 30$ and have lasted forever, wash em, dry em, never iron, and match the blue blazer. You can still look sharp on a budget!

M&H is good, if you take proper care of it. You can't throw your pants in the washer and expect them to last, when they are wool and say DRY CLEAN ONLY. I highly recommend going into one of their location and getting the uniform properly tailored for your body. You will look and feel a lot better. |

I was happy we changed 'official' suppliers, but not before I went back and forth with those idiots several times. |
M&H is complete crap.

I wear M&H at home. I rock the regatta collection when I'm hanging with Judge Smells and Dr. Beeper.

I don't have a clue who you are, and don't have a clue what airline you fly for, but please don't ever defend M and H again or people that choose not to wear it. I get much higher quality pants at penny's, and pay less for them, without tags that say they aren't M and H. With that being said, I'm sure your a nice guy and fun to fly with, but M and H is pure dog crap. |

I still wear my original M&H uniform that i got 4 years ago. I wash them and dry them on low now for 3 of those 4 years and no problems. They are not my favorite pants to wear but they are not that bad either.

You must be overweight...and no offense intended, in all honesty.
Most men order the wrong size pants... Especially short guys not ordering the "S"... It's funny to see short guys like myself wear regular pants and have the fly go down to their knees lol - these are prolly the guys opposing M&H. The fit and the quality are different stories hahahaha |

You must be too cheap to tailor your pants. They for fine is you order the right size and get them tailored when needed.

The fit and quality is what we are talking about. M&H blows. The tie I got had an uneven end to it. Instead of forming an even triangle at the bottom, on side was an inch longer than the other side. They wanted me to pay for shipping to send it back to them. The pants I bought had different leg sizes. I am lucky one leg was too long rather than too short because they wanted me to pay to ship it back to them again. Instead I spent that money to get it tailored. Bottom line, for the price they charge, you should not be required to get items tailored to make them the size that you ordered. I found pants at Men's Wearhouse that are the exact same shade, better quality, are the size they say they are, and are about $10 cheaper. The only problem is the pattern is not the same.
My personally preference would be black and silver uniforms. A clip-on or zip tie is the only way to roll! You stay classy San Diego!!! |
Rumor has it that we will be keeping the blazers but switching to the navy pants. Woot. Uncoordinated uni's FTW.

However, I have found as close of a perfect fit with some non-tailored slacks store-bought. |
Here's the new FA Uniform... Thank you Chuck Colgan...

For the price, I shouldn't have to have them tailored. M&H is pure crap, sorry. With this fit, you would think of them to be $10 Walmart slacks.

Wow I didn't know anyone aside of CommutAir used that company. Couldn't agree more, worthless crap that doesn't even remotely come close to the advertised sizes.

Why I'm I arguing with people who think high quality clothing comes from Jcpenney or kohls. Cheap penny pinchers don't know what quality is. Stay classy wearing your faded department store pants. |
