Hi
sorry about your situation ...was wondering if that "dodging the interview was a factor in their not hiring you ". I cannot figure any other reason that they turned you down in the review board but if it came up that you defered interviews on numerous times any HR department would be less than thrilled.
This comes from a relative who works in HR at a fortune 500 company FP |

All the more reason to get a source to do a employment background check on you with this employer.

What about proficiency? Did you had some flight time before going to interview?
They can give you a conditional pre-offer letter because you passed all the parts from the interview, but probably something was not as good as others or into their standards. As is says the letter ir a PRE CONDITIONAL OFFER. |

Now I remember why I left, it's just one disappointment after the next.

It doesn't have to be guys. Really. Perseverance is the key in this business. Almost every pilot you see in an airline cockpit has gone through tough times and disappointment just to get there, and even AFTER they got there. It's a tough business. If you REALLY want to be in this business, just move on and try to get on with other carriers. As has been pointed out, there are quite a few out there.
Don't let the negatives get you down and defeat your goal. Focus on the end game. |

Your probably right, but this guys blood makes me boil just thinking about it. I definitely need to refocus my energy somewhere else, and I think I know where to do that.
No matter what you do you will never know with 100% certainty of why you were not offered the position. I would humbly suggest you just try and better yourself in what you have learned in the process. I personally have interviewed at thirteen airlines being offered employment at six of them. That means I was turned down seven times. And each one hurt I will not deny. Being rejected by anything can hurt you. But if you REALLY want to be an airline pilot you must pick yourself up and press on the best you can. I love my job but it is not perfect. No airline is. No company is for that matter. If I did not have this passion for flying there is no way I would have stayed the course. If you are not extremely lucky like few are, you must have a passion for this profession to survive its challenges. I personally can't imagine doing anything else and feel blessed to have a profession I dearly love. Good luck friend and remember, stay thirsty. |

I have a few "boiler makers" in my life also. Karma truly is a biatch and time has taken care of them.

You are probably better off. After a long time AE empl, you do not have any rights.
And looking at whats developing there now, don't waste your time, start looking at another outfit, between Comair and AE migration you "could" end up better off. So, don't look at this letter as something negative. I personally know of 5 good friends that for one or another reason didn't get on with AE in 2000-2001, two other friends and myself did. It Was disastrous. The other 5 are well ahead of us with QoL, salary and seat time. Best of luck to you. You have the right to be disappointed after receiving the letter. Try to figure out what is going on and keep trucking. Good luck. |
