Saab Questions

With Delta pulling all the Saab's out of MSP, what equipment is Mesaba using to fly those routes? I frequently non-rev on the Saab's and just wondering what the status is. Are those routes disappearing, or simply being replaced by CRJ-200 flights?

Thanks in advance.

The routes are either disappearing or being serviced by a CRJ.

Saabs rule!

MSP-JMS-DVL should be interesting in the winter with a 200...

captain152 11-23-2011 12:06 PM

From what I've heard the routes that can be served with a 200 will be.

I've also heard from several pilots that they want to put the 200 on routes that it shouldn't be serving by any stretch of the imagination (5-6 pax per flight and small/skinny runways).

Guess we'll see soon enough!

we have a 4 leg Highspeed in dec on the 200. That should be efficient

XJ 200 is doing the HIB/TVF 4 leg highspeed.

captain152 11-23-2011 03:13 PM

Holy crap those are terrible!!! You pretty much gotta become nocturnal for those to be for you

Tom a Hawk 11-23-2011 04:47 PM

Whats the block and layover on that one?

Is that 2 legs on each end or 3 then 1 in the morning?

No traffic, no managers, and no feds: You call them High Speeds.

I call them heaven. ;)

2 legs on each end, MSP-HIB-TVF 8 hours on the ground TVF-HIB-MSP.

yb23 11-24-2011 05:57 AM

8 hours on the ground? Better than the 5 we got on the Saab for our 4-leg HIB-TVF. I wouldn't complain too much!

Is that allowed now? I know under our old contract the first leg in the morning had to return you to domicile.

Agreed! Remember the old FOD-MCW where you get about 5 hours if you are lucky on the ground, or the crappy JMS-DVL?? 8 hours is a treat!

12.3.J.4
A Pilot will not be scheduled for more than two (2) legs after the scheduled intervening layover.

Tom a Hawk 11-24-2011 09:58 AM

8 hours? man we do SHD-BKW with 4 legs, 3:15 block and 5:31 on the ground. and the cab ride to the hotel is 20 mins each way. But JSH is right, the no managers, feds, or traffic make the standups better.
