Wyndham Garden is $53/night for XJT crews.

there are a few pay per night crash pads as well.

Unless you're rich or being subsidized by your parents or wife or someone you will need a crash pad to commute to EWR. You'll be on reserve for a few months if the hiring continues and even with aggressive pick up you won't fly enough to not have a crash pad. 4 nights at Wyndham is a months worth of a crash pad and you might need a place to sleep 4 nights of a 4 day block of reserve.

And when you get a hard line you might still need a crash pad. I've been here 9 months and this is the first month I won't have a crash pad. Next month I'm back in it.

Didn't you just start there? How do you already know you're Newark based?

Yeah, you've been in class for what - a week? Sure you'll probably be able to get Newark when the new bid closes, and if that's what you want that's obviously good news for you. But you're already talking about being done with training and list yourself as a 145 FO... confidence is one thing but you're nearly 2 months from actually making it. Maybe concentrate on that first.

You didn't put a period at the end of your last sentence :).

To the OP, Roger Cohen from the RAA knows where you can find a cheap room. Call him at: 202-367-1170.
