I've gotten apps in with several regionals, friends walked most in so their opinions are slightly biased. I have my 1000 hours PIC and now im debating between the issues of go to an airline like eagle and face huge upgrade times, or go to colgan, where upgrade times are quick. Additionally, turboprop vs turbofan, does it make a diff or is 121 time the big issue?

Some will tell you prop vs jet time doesn't matter, some will tell you that it does. I don't think anyone knows for sure. Just ask yourself, If you were on a major airline's hiring board and you had two applicants with the exact same resume but one guy had all jet time and one guy (or girl) had all turbo prop time which one would you choose?

Good point. Then ask yourself if you were on a major airline's hiring board and you had two applicants with the exact same resume but one guy had all SIC jet time and the other had all turbo prop time (including 1000 turbo prop PIC), which one would you choose?

You can argue this point both ways.

I bet that in this case the guy with turboprop PIC would win out over SIC jet. For some reason all the carriers have a hard-on for PIC turbine time when hiring people.
