Unfortunately that's based on an archaic system and is headed the way of the dodo bird.

PBS is coming whether you like it or not. Instead of thumping your chest like a monkey about it, better start thinking how to preserve an equivalent amount of vacation with PBS.

The company wants PBS bad...make them pay for it. The challenge will be the senior lifers...since PBS will make things even better for the top 20% (at the expense of everyone else) they will try to get all the junior ducks to line up for the company.

Is that so? In a recent meeting I was told ASA management is unhappy with pbs as its costing them even more money. I was also told they are looking at our line bidding software and are willing to accept it but what to negotiate work rules. What's your source Ricky?

Pinnacle does it the same as Skywest where the senior guy gets all his picks before moving on down the list.

So how far in advance do you guys have to put in for vacation? It doesn't sound like you can just decide to take some time off at the spur of the moment if you need to. That would be hard to get use to.

We bid in October for the following year at Pinnacle. Awards come out November first.

They want PBS bad, they ALSO want to get rid of the current way that the ASA PBS vacation system currently works.

Why does every thread on here turn into an ASA PBS discussion? I'd really like to know because it seems that is what is happening. Maybe we need a PBS thread. Maybe there already is one. I shall have to go look. Might be a good place to have a discussion about ASA's PBS vs ExpressJet's bidding system.
