Does the delta side passes have a spot for domestic partner? Or registered guest?
|
The way I see it is, if you don't like the benefits, don't use it. No one force you pay $50 a year to use these "benefits"

DL Employee Buddy Pass Priority = S4 & date of HIRE of EMP. Pinnacle Parent = S4 & date of TRAVEL. Buddy pass traveling courtesy of the most junior DL EMP will be before your parents ANY DAY.

Not begin forced to do something doesn't make a wrong right. None of us wanted DL employees booted off of planes (hack they are our providers and credit is due where its due), all we wanted was stuff that we had in the past back. As well as the right to come first on our planes, especially in a new world where delta is making us BUY the god damn airframes.

We have employee, spouse, dependents. Parents who pay surcharges that don't make sense (and travel on a travel date sub priority)... IE BOS-LAX,BOS-SFO,JFK-SFO,JFK-LAX costs 3 times more than LAX-HNL.... explain? Dom partners have same arrangement as parents I believe but not sure. No buddy passes at all, no registered friend, no companion, nothing. Need to help your mother in law once in a while to come see you? forget it. |

What is it tht you want back? Our parents to have our hire date as oppose to date of travel? Lets look at the old NWA way. Not much has change. We always travled behind NWA retire NWA Retire = 5R Pinnacle = 5W (NWA flights) Our Parents 6P However I had to pay for EACH TRIP (pre 2007) if I want to Non-Rev plus addtional if I wanted to list for first class. Mainline NWA always travel as 5 just like us on Pinnacle flights, so it comes down to date of hire (That stayed the same). S3 and S3 (on Pinnacle flights). Buddy pass, if you call it that, were we had to travel with our buddy, and the fares is sometimes more than a fares if you bought it onlines The way I see it is this is a step up from what we use to have. The only change I see from what we had before on the Delta side is our parents change to date of travel, however we get 6 international travel days instead of 3. Becareful about how you want what you had in the past. Remember this: Parent Travel Parents may now travel unlimited on domestic and international flights at the yield fare rate. Flight listings for parents can be created through TravelNet. The yield fare averages from $0.02 to $0.04 per mile plus applicable taxes. At one point our parents couldn't even travel on Delta, until this was changed in 2010. I didn't hear you complain about this was "change" and you want what you had in the past back. |
I've taken the advice from above... I don't nonrev anymore on DL. My parents haven't bothered trying to nonrev since 2010. I pay the $50 so I can fly overseas, but domestically I rather JS on Virgin or Jetblue.

If it is it ain't gonna be Pinnacle. Like airsupport noted, your guys' retirees or active come before us. And I'll tell you even more than that... your buddy passes come before my **parents** (as of the latest priority change). How do you like that? Would it also surprise you that I have no buddy passes at all to give while your guys' active give them to half the city creating flights with more buddy pass pax than rev pax?
Let's remind ourselves who are the ones that signed and allowed ALPA and mainline create the beast called the regional. Also, let's not forget whose kid that is with the spiked hair gel and ipod that got a regional job with 200 hours. Plus what's with all the "you guys" references? I don't work at Delta. I'm allowed to believe in a pro-mainline priority and without thinking the world revolves around me. And who's kid is it? sure wasn't mine they can't even poop in a toilet yet...

I got tired of being bumped by a Delta gate agent ready-reserve's stepchild going on a joyride, while I'm trying to get to work.
Nonrev benefits perfectly illustrate how much respect Delta corporate feels for the regional employees who service the bulk of their pax. I try to return that respect to Delta in as many ways possible. |

As for what I'd like. I'd like comparable benefits as other regionals get. I'd like buddy passes (16 OW or 8RT). I'd like my parents to travel for free just as they would if I worked for a different regional. Most of all, I'd like them to be on a priority thats comparable to other places and does not come after every single buddy pass. BTW, thats 'industry standard' and has been for the past 30 years of aviation. As an aside, I'd like you to note that some routes delta offers our parents at 'yield fare' are more expensive than buying a ZED on a different carrier. In 30 years of american airline industry, this is a new. On your 'own airline' (yes that includes subsidiaries) you pay more than on a different airline. Please note I'm talking benefits here... not our yield fares vs buying a ticket on the market. |
