Well after last night MEC update I think it is forsure safe to say Menke is out of his mind ( I have been a tinsie bit optimistic in him doing a decent job) but with the last couple messages from him and the Union, hes definately just trying for a money grab.

Yup, the union messages and the company's failure to issue the 4Q results makes me think that we're not in such bad shape and that without all the one time costs associated with the merger that we would have made money in the 4Q.

Which probably wouldnt harm some of these guys since there wont be an out of order furlough. So that happening will hurt some of your own pilots too. But once again it is not yours or ours, it is everyones. Tricky concept

Actually, nothing belongs to you. It all belongs to Delta and Unical, and you are at their mercy.

Should we take bets on PNCL releasing Q4 earnings tomorrow morning?

What did I miss? Why tomorrow morning?

Al Czervik 03-05-2012 11:59 AM

Think the BK will come at the same time?

tom14cat14 03-05-2012 07:30 PM

There was a press release for corporate event. Earning report march 6th before the bell. Of course this has happened how many times over the past few weeks. It would not surprise me if they push it back again.

No, it will come at 5PM Friday. It's a little trick they learned from XJ: F*&K YOU Fridays.

The CFO bailed out to Spirit. He didn't even make it one year at Pinnacle. You know things are really bad when Ted bails out on his pal Menke.

What are you talking about? This was a great opportunity that Ted couldn't turn down . . . .

Peter Gibbons: You're gonna lay off Samir and Michael?
Bob Slydell: Oh yeah, we're gonna bring in some entry-level graduates, farm some work out to Singapore, that's the usual deal.
Bob Porter: Standard operating procedure.
Peter Gibbons: Do they know this yet?
Bob Slydell: No. No, of course not. We find it's always better to fire people on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there's less chance of an incident if you do it at the end of the week.

I still haven't received my paycheck... and... and... I think you have my stapler...

So I guess we're all saying now is a good time to buy PNCL stock?!? I called ScottTrade to place my order and the guy just chuckled... no not really.

tom14cat14 03-06-2012 12:24 PM

Still no earnings reported. I guess they can do this every week until the end of march if they wanted. I am split on if i think this is because of good news or because of bad news. I guess we will just have to wait and see. I am sure we will find out soon because our CEO's main message to us when he started was communication to our employees is very important to him.

I wonder if The Bobs, a.k.a Seabury, have anything to do with the delay...

Skypilotsv1984 03-06-2012 02:08 PM

Maybe they need more time to cook the books since their figures won't have our 5% paycut in them.

Good news? When was the last time this industry had good news? What would the good news be? At this point I guess no news is good news but only because we've been conditioned for so long with bad news. I heard they did get their money from Delta, I'm betting they are trying to hide the money so they can declare.

That's the first I have heard that Delta paid up.

I do not really think there is good news because we have not had anything good in the industry for a long time, like you said. The only reason i say maybe (very small in my mind) they did better then they thought they would and if you release better then expected earnings it would be counter productive to the fear mongering they are currently doing trying to get pay cuts from us and revenue raises from their partners. I think their can be an argument both ways. No matter how small.

MunkyButtr 03-06-2012 03:32 PM

I can see it now... the Q4 report is delayed til the end of the month then we got this in our v-file on April 1st...

APRIL FOOLS!!!!

PropDriver 03-06-2012 03:58 PM

I was walking into the headquarters building today and saw Menke and Jerry Atkin (CEO of Skywest) walking out together. A couple higher ups in the training department that I shared an elevator with told me that Jerry has been seen a lot around headquarters this week. Could the announcement on Friday be that we're being sold to Skywest??

Or they're buying our 900s...

interesting development. malted barley and hops speculation here, but what if Jerry is in town for some sort of announcement for friday? An asset sale of 900's would be ok for skywest, but the q's wouldn't do much good in the short term. Skywest would take at least six months to write manuals and get approval to add q's to their certificate. But if they bought a certificate with q's, the sky is the limit. They purchase the colgan cert lock stock and barrel along with the options for the 30 other deliveries, and they are up and running. pncl goes cash positive in the deal and Menke walks out looking like a savior. haha, i love beer night speculation.

Skywest tried to buy XJ for the 900's already, Delta wouldn't let them. If the Q's are not making money and United doesn't want to renegotiate, I don't see why a company that usually makes money like Skywest would want them. How do you know it was Atkin? What does that guy even look like and how did you recognize him?

Fly782 03-06-2012 06:46 PM

I had to look up a picture, no way would I have known what he looked like...

geddeh 03-06-2012 06:50 PM

At the rate OO has been picking up the flying XJ and 9E used to do, it would seem fitting. PS... You mean malted barley and hops.

Question now being would the employees associated with the Colgan certificate go with the airframes? One day a Pinnacle Holdings employee the next day a Skywest Inc. employee... how would this work with the contract? Is there any language pertaining to this type of hypothetical deal?

I'll let it slide. Remember that Beer is important and must not be trivialized.
