I personally, would have one foot out the door. With a 5% pay cut, missing payroll dates, an article in a Memphis newspaper suggesting 9E file for bankruptcy protection, unfortunately it's time. Are there other vocations within 9E, where they're not making payroll? 9E is hosting a Flight Attendant open house this week, perhaps you can put the word out? It's not as if 9E is not breaking it's own Code of Business Conduct, but then whom would this be reported to?

Well after talking with someone who has been in the industry for close to 30 years now and has gone through bankruptcy and 2 mergers. Anyone consider that we may get rid of a couple of Qs but still get a contract raise but for say just 25 planes? Thus making united essentially pay us the same as they were before even with the raise? I must admit it is funny hearing their side vs the doom and gloom on here. Not saying either is correct but funmy how different the opinions vary. Continue

We all know that a transition to a jet is a learning curve and has its differences but the folks I know personally who have failed are great folks and skilled aviators. Something has not added up when listening to the breakdown of their training. While different, the transition should not present much difficulty to the folks who put the effort in. How do you explain how these "experience" Colgan regional turboprop pilots are having so much difficulty with jets when a zero to hero ATP grad with nothing more than Seminole time and an RJ course make it through jets with no problem? |
There is a possibility that the planes that are in ALB/YYZ may have been refinanced and a Broker has to inspect them... this is why they might be in the MX hangars?

Saying all "zero to hero" pilots made it through with no problem is not correct. I had a run of about 50% failure of new hires at my time there. Most of the time the failures ended with a solid "thud" and a red screen.

Take it for what is worth, but a poster over at Airliners.net just posted that the E135 has been loaded in the schedule takeing over several SF3 routes starting in June.

Added: Funny... no change in schedule at all per the United website for the month of Sept... same schedule that we are operating on right now... seems like the information is no good and the person on A.net doesn't have accurate info. |
Not trying to fuel the fire, but the latest ExpressJet bid has all the 135 captain slots going to IAH.

Colgan is being sold to Skywest. It will become part of ASA/XJT.
