Yea guys!?1? What does it mean, they are ceasing operation of the Saabs by August and the Q400 by November! What does this mean to the props? Come on man. Before years end Pinnacle will be a CRJ 200 & 900 operator for Delta! It's written all over the thread and on any press release you read about Pinnacle!

That Canadian article says the Q's will be transferred to another yet to be specified United Express carrier.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/stor...y.html?cmp=rss

So let's see, I'm going to throw out my speculative time-line. Feel free to add or omit or disagree.

Trenary resigns with a nice package on 3-24-11

In October Commutair management surprisingly and suddenly decides to wrap up years of grinding contract negotiations in a few weeks. Didn't they also manage to get a Q400 operating certificate too? I'm not sure.

Menke asks for a 60% raise while attempting to chop up pilot wages

1 year after Trenary resigns Pinnacle declares BK.

Canadian companies who want their $600+ millions mention that the Q's will be going to another UAX partner.

***. And we ants just run around while corporate bastards plan their retirements and how they will get around minor inconveniences like bankruptcies without losing their salaries, profits, or market share. Pay no attention to the man behind the green curtain. I'm all for capitalism and economic drivers for innovation, efficiency, and success, but the closed door cigar-smoking back-slapping sun-tanning sessions going on with management while people's livelihoods are on the line is over the top.

I know about the Colgan Saabs and Qs going away. I'm asking about Mesaba. Does it still exist and does it still have airplanes? I'm not familiar with the details of your merger and what went where.

Chill, dude.

Maybe this will help, and if it doesn't I'll bust out the pretty pictures next... Just messing with ya!!!

Pinnacle has asked the DOT to establish an accelerated process to identify replacement carriers for the EAS markets it serves, which are currently served by Saab 340 aircraft.
The remaining Saab 340 fleet that Colgan operates for United Express will be wound down over the next several months, with these operations projected to end by Aug. 1, 2012. Similarly, Colgan’s Q400 aircraft operations will be wound down by Nov. 30, 2012.

*A simple visit to a search engine would quench your information hunger my dear friend. Ahh the joys of the internet!

On January 4, 2012, the Mesaba operation was fenced into the current Pinnacle Airlines operating certificate. In the future the Colgan Airlines operating certificate will be renamed Mesaba.

I do agree with you, respect each other! I do agree with his thinking but not calling the other guy an idiot! I am warning him about possibly taking points.

The original plan was to move all the jets to the Pinnacle certificate and the props to the Mesaba certificate and get rid of the Colgan certificate. Due to the cost issues of starting the Q400 on the Mesaba certificate, it was decided to move the props to the Colgan certificate and get rid of the Mesaba Certificate. Then the company was going to rename Colgan Mesaba. The jets were placed on the Pinnacle certificate in Jan and the Mesaba certificate went away. There hadn't been any talk about the renaming of the Colgan certificate since December. Yesterday the company filed bankruptcy and all of the Colgan aircraft are being returned to lessors and the certificate will go away when the last Q is returned in December.

Thanks for the explanation. I thought Mesaba was still in play, but this makes sense.

Good luck to all you guys.
