Quotas decrease when the airplanes leave property so 9E guys will have even fewer Captain slots available to them. The group that will make out the best is the former XJ pilot group as they aren't loosing any airplanes that affect their quotas. Although they already lost a lot of slots when they lost their Saabs. No real way around it. We are all getting screwed. See you in the unemployment line.

That article was written for Canada, the company is trying to make it look like tax payer money is not in jeopardy in this deal. I don't know if I believe it, is United going to offer the next company a better deal than they offered 9E? One wouldn't think so. How would the transition of flying work? If they can cover the flying while it is in transition you would think they would just continue to cover the flying that way. Here's an idea, United should by some 100 seaters and have United pilots fly them.

I dont know if you have actually read the Bloch award or not but the quota's/fences are only in place for 5 years after the award. The award has been out for nearly a year already.

I'm wondering if this place will be around in 5 years. Performance is going to be a huge issue in the next few months - just like it was at Mesa. The show is now run by Delta, I'm betting they will find a way to wiggle out of the 200s when the time is right. If 9E doesn't find new flying fences won't matter, you might never get a chance to upgrade here.

It is amazing that people are talking about fence issues, 4.5 years down the road, when this company could (probably) be stripped to nothing.

Bigger problems ahead for this airline, not just about old airline vs old airline

I hate to agree with anyone...ever.... while I am not in support of an out of seniority furlough, how is this any less fair than an out of longevity furlough?? I don't see how anyone can support anything other than date of hire across the board. Its going to be a long road for us all.
