Wish I had a go pro

I remember when I had my first beer. At least this time it's not my company, good screening ASA.

Hey everyone, get a load of the nerd!!! NEERRDDD!!! -Homer Simpson :D
Is this a cool video your "came across"? Or cool video you "uploaded"? Some cool shots in there. I especially like the "Look at all my shiny buttons" pan-down at about 2:15:D I keed, I keed! Song sounds like it is about an abusive, dysfunctional relationship, so I would say it's well chosen.

I think Alex Clare just got sick watching this

If you're going to YouTube a bunch of takeoffs and landings, at least try to put the plane down in the touchdown zone for god's sake. (Last landing)

It was a very well put together video.

UnheededWarning 04-09-2012 03:04 PM

Just waiting for when one of these numbnutz with a camera smacks something and it comes out they were making videos and not flying the airplane. Check me if I'm wrong, but installing this type of device inside the cockpit is not only stupid but against most airlines' operating rules. Plus, making videos under 10,000 feet where cockpits are to be sterile also violates FAA rules. I'm not a buzz kill, but after Colgan's debacle with 3407, can any of you guys really want to risk being the next, Captain "I'm tugging off all the power and decelerating until I stall it in to show off for this chick FO"?

Those things have trailing link gear, don't they? How hard can it be?

Because I'm sure you've never ever snapped a photo of something under 10k

As long as the camera is mounted and the pilots don't have to touch it, the cockpit is still sterile. However, I believe there are FARs about mounting equipment in the airplane.

In addition to the prohibition of the use of electronic devices below 10k

Ding ding ding!!!

If you're going to do something potentially stupid don't broadcast it to the world.

If you just HAVE to make something like this be sure to keep it in your personal HD movie file on your computer... Just a thought.

Videos like these are one of the many reasons we make $20,000 in the first year. I searched youtube for videos of passionate burger flipping mcdonald's managers 'day in the life at mcdonald's' etc, and for some reason couldn't find anything. The day this profession becomes a job is the day we make a respectable wage.

subrat 04-09-2012 07:53 PM

happy hands drive me crazy!

True that! And what's with the gay music on every single one of these CRJ videos? Remember that Skywest one?

FlyJSH 04-10-2012 12:12 AM

The video almost proves we just push the take off button and land button: I only saw hands on the controls about 20 seconds.

FTFY :)

FYI - How to Embed YouTube Videos

Machne722 04-10-2012 05:08 AM

Wow.. That video was awsome. That a/p does a really good job flying around in day vfr. Where can I go to fly a shiny jet and video tape myself being a gift to aviation and post it on the internet. Maybe ASA.

That video is gay!

The absolute best thing about flying in AK is that there are no RJs in the entire state.

samballs 04-10-2012 09:41 AM

Someone should make a video called why i hate my job.
In it show us sitting for 3 hrs at an outstation. The LAX hotel, a bum takes a rest on the couch in the lobby. Sitting 70th for takeoff in jfk in August. But best yet at the end show a FO paycheck at the end. This video only showed we like to push buttons.

flysooner9 04-10-2012 10:07 AM

Do we not?

Embraego 04-10-2012 10:24 AM

Wow there sure are a lot of haters here.

God forbid anyone should actually enjoy having a pilot job in the USA.

Enjoyment should not be a substitute for a livable salary/work rules.

Many pilots in this country are appalled by excessively low pay and dismal work rules/benefits under of some of the worst, morally-deprived type of business leaders in the world.

What is moreso appalling, is the fact that some pilots still remain beyond infatuated with this industry, and are willing to not only take a fellow pilot's job for lesser pay, but also to celebrate it in the process.

Perhaps instead of buying expensive mounted cameras, you should work on saving up your strike fund.

Sponge14 04-10-2012 10:53 AM

Comments like theses really annoy me. I would have given anything to be a commercial or corporate pilot, but all that 90% of the pilots on these boards do is complain about how miserable their lives are.... Yeah I make more money than probably a 5th year regional pilot, but am I happy with sitting in a cube for 8 hours a day? Nope. Do I feel fulfilled in my life when I get to go home every night? Not so much. It seems like some of you are so unhappy with your career choices, but you choose to not do anything else? You want to rip on people who see the shiny jets and say, "wow, I would give anything to fly one of those." Well, if you are all so miserable, find another career. There are entry level jobs out there that will get you home every night.

mmaviator 04-10-2012 11:28 AM

A really nice video.....not as good as the crj video though;).
