Last time I checked they had a bunch of Delta connection ERJ's in MCO and a few -8's up in the NE. Trying to say that F8 is not YV is ridiculous, they are both mesa...ie the same pile of stinking dogsh*t.

Mesa had the worst customer satisfaction out of all airlines listed on the NOV DOT survey. I suspect that they will be fired by DL, and possibly other partners if things keep going the way they are...and DAL stated on that RFP that they were looking for best value, not lowest cost.

If they want quality over lowest price, why did they threaten to take flying from Comair? I believe Comair already has an MCO base and probably provides much better service than Mesa.

Obviously they don't want THAT much quality at THAT price. But I'm hoping that mesa has reached and exceeded rock-bottom...

If mesa can pull all of the sh*t they do, and still achieve performance that is "acceptable" to a code-share, then we are all in deep doo-doo...

Rumor on the street from unverified sources say mesa got awarded 30 more aircraft to fly for Delta. Yes even after the JFK implosion this summer.

I think the rumors that are linked to anything related to Delta are all bogus. Until Delta figures themselves out, no one knows what is going on. I also pray you are wrong.

What was the date they were supposed to announce the bid awards from the RFP? Isn't it soon?

A few things;

First, please review basic English grammer. I have my share of typos but one should be aware of the difference between you're (the contraction of you are) and your (a form of the possessive case of you used as an attributive adjective). Not being able to discern the difference makes you appear to have a substandard education.

Second, why would you make such an assine statement as to doubt the existance of the person who told me this nonsense. You accuse me of making up a person in order to facilitate asking the question "has anyone heard of a change in the relationship between YV & DL". Why would I need to create a fictional person to ask this question?

Third, why dont you RTFQ? The reson I mentioned her former HP status was to illustrate that she is familiar with YV's performance history. I never said she was highly placed. Quite the opposite, I said I thought she was confused as to the difference between DL and Comair.

Fourth, a change in the relationship does not only mean increased (or decreased) flying. It means any change in the relationship. There are many facets of the airline business that have nothing to do with flying.

To everyone else: thanks for your replies. Since no one else reported hearing that DL & YV were merging I can only assume that the person I heard this from was a total whack job, despite her 100% certainty.

What I keep hearing every time I hop on a DAL plane to get to work is come Jan 2007 F8 is gone. Of course...I hear a lot of things when I'm at the airport.

I have heard that also, from sources who are on the more credible end of the rumor spectrum. My first-hand knowledge of mesa's operational catastrophies and labor discontent this year leads me to believe that it is a realistic possibility.

Isn't Nov 8 the anouncement date?

Don't know when the announcement date is but it'd be nice if they would do it already. I know DAL let the deadline to get the bids in slide for Comair and RAH didn't bid on any CRJ flying (so hopefully we won't be conflicting with ASA, SKW, or Comair). Hell, I'd be happy to just take back O-town from Freedom and be done with the whole damn thing.
