Not sure why some folks think that if they pay 2% then things will automatically improve with a union. As I understand it a union is a tool, you can buy the tool and still not use it. i.e. mesa.
The union is as strong as those who back it.
And whoever said "You don't hear of any unions in the military now do you?" made me laugh. Sorry
Anyway I did not sign up for the military when I got hired at skyw.
I just think its our responsibility to raise the bar when we are here at the regionals. A union is with its pro/con's is the only way to do that.
Its our industry, and based on current trends, when we get to the majors most of the flying will be outsourced to young guys who are happy to fly for 19.02 an hour.

The reason I started this thread was cause somewhere here in the next few months I'm gonna have to decide between the two. So I just wanted to see what others think.

No, in the next few months you MIGHT have to choose between the two. You sound pretty confident that lightning will strike twice. If SKYW stops hiring or still doesn't hire you that'll suck. And depending on the reason you gave XJT when you turned down the offer they may or may not want you back. Seems to me that you may have burned one oppurtunity hoping another one would materialize that didn't. Hopefully you will be as lucky again in 6 months.

No BS. My pal loved SKYW. Loved it. But that's what they told him. He had 5 years perfect attendance at CAL as a FA, this was his first sick call ever. On the other hand, inconsistant application of rules is a hallmark of a non-union environment. You know guys who haven't had any problems calling off. Here's a case where one was. Where does it say they can't can you for a second sick call?
