I would suggest picking up a pair of Clarks slip-ons....I was able to get a pair for about $55 last winter on sale and they are usually over $100. These shoes are durable, light, security friendly and can be shined up!

High heels and the apron work better! My wife swears by it.

flyingice 01-19-2015 06:46 AM

I walk around in Ariat Heritage Stockmans, a roper boot, and its the way to go. Thought about Eccos, et al, but when its -15 F in YEG or YYC, its pouring rain in SEA, you dont want shoes. Go with a good roper boot, your feet will stay dry and warm. Ariat, Tony Lama, Nacona, Justin. Even in the summer they are comfortable.

You married well dude. Still trying to get my wife to wear heels and the apron around the house...

Dockers also have anti corrosive soles. My Dockers have been through lots of glycol and still hold up great.

I went with a pair of Ariat ropers this winter and really like them. They only take a couple of days to break in and being able to wear thick boot socks during the winter is a big plus. Next time I'll probably go with paddock boots though, because occasionaly, I look down and see that my uniform pants got tucked into the top of my boots.

I just got a pair of Blondo boots. Super comfortable, and still room to get warm socks in. The SAAB isnt the warmest airplane in the winter.

Good luck, we're all counting on you. :D

I recommend the Red Wing airport security safe shoes. They're comfortable and tough. I like the look, too. They look pretty close to military issued dress uniform shoes, too which I like.

Can those be re-soled? (spelling?)

Excellent!!:D

I got a pair of hush puppies that are still holding up strong after 7 years. They took a year and a half break though. Doesn't set off the metal detector and match great with the uniform. Can't complain about the comfort either. They weren't too expensive if I remember correctly. Just make sure you polish them, cause they turn green

Maybe I'm a cheap bastard but I've been getting my work shoes for $10 at the Goodwill. You'd be surprised how many people buy nice black dress shoes, wear them to 2 weddings and a funeral, and then give them away looking practically brand new. I've found some nice ones including Cole Hahn and even a pair of Allen Edmonds. If I find a nice pair with leather soles I usually have my local shoe repair place throw on a rubber sole over it. They last a lot longer that way and are more secure on slippery ramps.

Come to think about, I suppose there's no "maybe" about it. I'm a cheap bastard.

Clark's are great shoes and airport friendly!

bcpilot 05-30-2015 10:56 AM

On the van one day, one FA recommended this place... Shoes for crews...

I bought this pair, going great, almost 4 months now., ultra comfortable, no slip, do not beep though the security & an awesome 69 day return policy with full refund, no questions asked.....

You get a $10 discount for bring aircrew, there store is in Las Vegas, no too far from the airport.

best pilot shoes

I know this is a little late to the party..lol...but there are these cool shoes called Piloti and they are not only very comfortable but they are great to use on the pedals because of the rounded heel. Most are probably too casual for airline uniform, but there a few that are beautiful dress shoes. Some of the most comfortable shoes I have worn. You can get them at pilotmall or driving-gear dot com

msprj2 04-17-2016 07:31 PM

I prefer the feel of nothing between my feet and the pedals. Spray paint my feet once a week seems to do the trick.

Planedrive 04-17-2016 07:47 PM

I thought heelys were the new thing?

http://www.heelys.com

Just make sure your uniform pants are large enough so you can fit the knee pads under. I usually go without elbow pads since I wear the short sleeve shirt.

$400 a pair?!?! Plus nowhere near uniform compliant. Your regional must pay good, I must be at the wrong place haha

HighFlight 04-18-2016 06:20 AM

I, too, looked, saw that price tag, and promptly closed the browser window before the IRS sent an auditor to my hotel room. Hoping no one saw that!

And it was his first post on a brand new account so he's certainly unbiased and has no connection what so ever to that company ;)

You would look like an idiot wearing those. Nice try on the sales pitch though.

This may be a sales pitch but slip ons, Velcro, and cowboy boots don't look any better.

Grow up you pudnocker,

FlierOnTheWall 04-19-2016 08:43 AM

I'm not kidding. They are black leather (looking), provide excellent traction for walkarounds and on the pedals, and most importantly Nikes are incredibly comfortable in comparison to the standard work shoe thereby supporting performance on long duty days. Also, they can double as a running shoe.

A little piece of advice. Don't wear those shoes.

They look like what they are - black running shoes and don't look professional.
