Well, I know CAL wants some regionals to fly Dashs for them. Here at CommutAir we are starting with the Q200's in Jan and in the company newsletter they said CAL has them exploring the idea of bringing on the Q300's on in 08'. So nothing would surprise me. They seems to like the Dashs for some reason. Guess those XJT RJ's are getting a bit expensive.

Comment on the price of our a/c all you want, CAL didnt want to have only one regional providing them service and correct me if I am wrong, you were desperate to get on here a few months ago werent you? Let me guess the beech 1900 you are on right now is your golden ticket to the 1,000hrs PIC thats gonna get you anywhere right?

Nope, not desperate to work there must have been somebody else. Have expressed interest in the past but, I got my job now and I am happy. Yes I would like to get that 1000PIC, why not? Hope it does get me a job at CAL someday as I am sure you hope the RJ will get you a job at CAL or elsewhere.

Yeah, Right NOW, it's just over 2 years. We had alot of growth last year and that has tappered off. Add a plane and you need 4 or 5 more captains for it. When I go to FDX! :D One more captain needed!! There is still a class almost every month for upgrade (usually 4 at a time!) - BCD

I think the main reason is because the B1900 is just poor customer service. It may be a blast to fly and be a great performer but passengers expect an FA and a lav when they get on an airliner. The Beeches have their place in the very short AND very thin market. A 40 min leg is one thing. But putting people on a B1900 for a 2+ hour flight is borderline criminal. I hear its not uncommon for crews to find bottles filled with p!ss when they clean the cabin.

Yeah, I definitly agree very poor customer service A/C. In fact I hate riding in them as a PAX. Its sooo loud. Oh, and yes pilots have found **** and other things sandwich between the back seats. I have not encountered any problems yet, though this is my first month on the line. I have heard some pretty interesting stories :D Fortunately before they board most station agents will warn the PAX's there is no Lav on board. I think that helps.

I know - I was laughing so hard tonight waiting on ATC to release us to LGA I almost quit before I had another job! OPEN time in ORF anyone?

dingo222 11-09-2006 05:40 AM

amen, i'm loving the 2 hr sits at CHO before we can ever get released to LGA. Usually, center gives us shortcuts all the way up! Makes you wonder why we sit so long. Well, it gives me an extra 2 hours a day to work on my sally strothers correspondence courses!
