Default XJet News Thread (NO contract bickering)

Since the other thread went to he!! in a handbasket, I started this thread.

One person mentioned November 19 class has 13 confirmed. Dec 3 has 24. Great news!

rumors of movements, new airplanes, and new hire classes? Let's hear it. No contract XJT v ASA bickering please, leave that in the other thread, go to the crackpipe or FI. Name calling and arguing is not productive, this board is better than that.

He doesn't need to be king, though this thread could be a good idea.. Or a very bad repetitive one.

You state that you want rumors in your "news" thread?

I heard furloughs after the holiday season...

Well I hope they're ready for next January. There may not be massive mainline hiring next year as predicted, but there will be some. Between that and the new rest rules, that would have to be some massive downsizing. That United contract must be worse than they thought....

I just don't see furloughes happening. MGT once told us it doesn't make sense unless they'll be gone at least 18 months. Like you said, with hiring, I just don't see it.

Can't have contract negotiations without some sort of fear floating around. It's just fear tactics.

Guys, I hope nobody took my post seriously. It sounded like the OP only wanted kool-aid in this thread and I was being sarcastic.

I did not hear anything about furloughs.

I was just tired of the crap in the other thread. Name calling, unfounded rumors and arguing over the implication of them, blame, rudeness and some of the people are just plain mean. It's not a sport. FlightInfo is more like that and I had held this forums in higher regard. Wanted to let them bicker and yell over there in that thread and start something more helpful/interesting

No one is going to be furloughed. Most of you guys are senior enough that it wouldn't effect you IF it did happen, so quit trying to scare the kiddos (not directed at gtechpilot). MOU 62 still exists, so IF furloughs did occur, they would be put into CRJ classes, assigned a seniority number while retaining their original seniority for integration and retain their pay longevity.

The only people that throw around furlough talk so lightly have never been laid off... it's not fun. But, again, no one will get furloughed -- it is already hard enough to fill classes from what I hear.
