Boston-Maine Airways

Does anyone know anything about Boston-Maine Airways based in Portsmouth, NH. Any pilots for them belong to apc? I was wondering about qol, pay, schedules, is psm the only domicile or is it just where the hq is? I have an interview there for a J-31 position coming up in the next few weeks and would like a little info, thanks for the help!

It's a union busting carrier. I'd stay away if it were me. And I grew up in NH.

What are your intentions for your career? If it is airlines, you might try one of the more established regionals, such as Eagle, XJT, etc. However, I guess if you live in New England, you might like it.

Well I have lived all over the country in the past 5 years (school and first jobs) grew up in Boston and just moved back the other week. I would like to stay in the area if possible. I have 1150tt, 400me, 300 turbine, just under 135 mins. I actually have an interview at Eagle in two days (wish me luck) just testing the waters with the regional 121 stuff, no commitments right now. Maybe I should try Colgan also, nothing wrong with getting interview experience in the meantime. Still can't really decide if I want to fly 135 or 121, I guess a plan would be good to come up with.

If you want New England you could call Cape Air, they're having a hard time finding applicants right now. You're close enough to 135 mins for them. The money is also quite good compared to 1st year FO pay elsewhere.

Boston-Maine is what's left of the former PanAm 3. Management canned all the union pilots and most in the industry view the pilots as scabs. Not a good career move.

You shouldn't have any problem getting on with one of the regionals based up there. I'll probably apply to regionals when I get enough time and if I decide I don't like the flying move over to 135.

That should be about enough to get interviews with most of the regionals around the NE. I know there are lots of new hires with MUCH less time than that.
