DL has a nice young RJ fleet, and a dinosaur aged fleet at mainline. Something seems wrong with that

Notice how Delta didn't announce where the new 900s are going or where the 60 200s are being removed?

Let the whipsawing begin!

Delta Air Lines announces agreement to continue fleet restructuring
Delta Air Lines has finalized an agreement with Bombardier Aerospace that will allow the airline to continue restructuring its domestic fleet by replacing less efficient single-class 50-seat aircraft with new two-class 76-seat aircraft. As part of the agreement, Delta will acquire 40 new CRJ900 two-class regional jets, with the option to purchase an additional 30 CRJ900 aircraft, and Bombardier will assist Delta in phasing out 60 single-class CRJ200 aircraft.

No trolling here, ExpressJet is hiring like mad and looking to hire 300 FAs. You tell me that those "facts" added in with 40 CRJ 900s do not add up to about the right stafffing needs including the other A/C coming in now.

I agree, One could hope that they will fly these mainline but I doubt it with the 717 coming online in the next year.

Doesn't DL have to get rid of a few more than 60 200's?

Troll Troll Troll...XJT is getting 16 from Pinnacle that's probably what they are hiring for...not to mention attrition amongst FA's at regionals, is always high

these will be offset by double or triple that number in 50 seaters being parked.
