Default Skywest bro's

Anyone have an idea how long the bro's are expected to be around? 4-5 years?

Thanks,

I dunno but I like to call em the "bro's". I also like to call the Dornier jets, "dojets" makes me feel cool, or the SAAB, the SLAAB hehe

SKW hasn't released any info on this topic. They've wanted to reduce their fleet but have been unable. The word is that they are expecting a change by 2011. That’s when their lease is up on their training equipment, ex. FTD, SIM. SKW will always need a Turboprop because of some of the airports they service, but in order for them to start rotating their fleet of Bro’s out they will need a reason other than age and Mx. Most likely a reason such as a Code Share specifying Q400’s or some other Prop. Until then SKW will be keeping there fleet.

Outstanding. I'm out of the Navy in 3.5 years, and should be ready for a regional in 5 years, and WILL be staying in SoCal, so SKYW has always been my No. 1 choice, and getting into the EMB would be the cherry on top!

I wish my fiancee had your attitude. We moved out to Fresno so he could upgrade on the Bro and he says it's like flying "a big piece of poo". Sourpuss.

But at least you get to run the risk of developing 'Valley Fever'!

Yeah, even St. Louis is better than Fresno. At least there are places to hang out other than at BJ's!

The Bro flies just like an EMB145, but we haven't modified ours with jets or glass cockpits yet!

The Bro isn't going anywhere soon at SkyWest, everything that I have heard points to it being around for at least five more years. RUMORS of course say that the Q400 will replace it, which again is years down the road.

q400 might take the place of the Bro, but it will never "replace" it!

That's way too far in the future to worry about or predict...we could all be flying starships between earth and alpha-centauri by then. And they would have 76 seats lol
