Exjet/ASA guys....

Just curious how big is the DTW base and is it a fairly senior or junior base? How long to hold it if hired? Thanks guys.

Effective 2/1 DTW will have 60 CAs and FOs, 120 pilots total. Should be able to hold it right out of class...

...and if for some reason you can't, there is a good chance someone looking to base trade down to ATL.

Are current classes offering ATL by any chance?

Hercdaddy22 12-20-2012 06:26 AM

How long can a new hire expect to sit reserve in DTW?

yimke 12-20-2012 07:08 AM

This was the base seniority on most recent bid:

1.IAD
2.DTW
3.DFW
4. ATL

It is unlikely to get it out of training. But it can always change. The reason DTW went high is because it is a 700/900 base only.

The base is about 35% bigger than that with about 85 active CA and about 80 active FO. Reserve is about 1-1.5 years in DTW. Getting it out of training right now is unlikely, but is subject to change. Most of the new hires are getting ATL. There is an 18 month seat lock if you get the 200, but it's at company's discretion and the past few position notices they have waived the seat lock. Good luck.

The most junior base is ATL 200. My class just hit the line and we have people going to every base. The December class all got ATL 200s. DTW shouldn't be long to hold, but I doubt you'll get it out of training.

That was a fluke. MANY people mis-bid because they thought they would be on reserve on the 200 in ATL and bid to the 700 to make more money at guarantee.

The order least-to-most senior is IAD, DTW, DFW, ATL.

I thought max/min on the 12-03 notice was 65/55.

I guess I misread it. Sorry guys.
