ExpressJet interview

I submitted an application to ExpressJet from their website. I dont' knwo if that is the only or the best way to go about doing things but I did. There are a couple things I wanted to know.

A)They asked which interview date would be best, July 17th or Aug 8th or something close. Does that mean that is the next time they will be interviewing guys?

B)How far in advance of losing this job should i start applying to those places?

C)Can anyone give me an idea what to study for the interview? Is it mostly the ATP written exam?

************************************************** ******
I'm also a little scared about my logbook. First off I live in the desert where the weather is pretty stable here. Hot and really hot. Sometimes tolerable cool..... I have 4-5 flights a day with the airforce guys. Sometimes I would get a little behind and just wait till I finished up a tach sheet or was soloing people to finally sit down and finish up my logbook. For each flight I simply put "flight instrction" in the remarks section. Do I need more? Are they going to want me to try and prove I really did all the things I said I did? Since I do so many flights it only takes me 3 days or so to fill out a complete page. So it's pretty much just tons of "Flight instruction" in the remarks section. The only proof I have of all the flying I did outside of my books is my list of endorsements. Since all i really do is get the guys soloing I run through them pretty quick. I have a mile long list of endorsements to show them. What else would they want to see?

Not sure what you mean by proof. Your logbook is your proof. Do you mean are they gonna ask for pay stubs or records from the school? Thats ridiculous. I worked for a busy 141 college program and would regulary fly 4-5 flights a day, filling about a page a week. All i put in the remarks section was student's name and lesson number but that was primarily for my own records. Im not sure what proof you think other guys are showing up with. As long as your single plus your multi equals your total and your day plus your night equals your total then it shouldn't be a huge deal. However, when I interviewed, one girl was let go within about 20 minutes before even talking to anyone because of "logbook issues". One thing I have heard that they look for is if you had the time you said you did when you applied. Meaning when you applied did you say you had 100 multi when in fact you had 90 but were expecting to have 100 by the time of the interview? Unless you pencil whipped your logbook to the point if lunacy then you shouldn't have much to worry about. You didn't pencil whip or lie about your times, did you?:D

Hey duck

As far as studying for the interview, go to www.aviationinterviews.com and subscribe to the free service that they have there. I used it to study for my ASA interview and it was right on. I also have an interview with ExpressJet and used the gouges to study for that too. You don't have sim check to worry about. Just technical and HR questions. :)

just wondering how long did it take from the time you sent in your app, till the time they emailed you back?

When I filled out the online application the possible interview dates had already gone by as well. I don't think this matters as I just got the interview email the other day.

I think the important thing is you just get the app submitted.. It seems like they are a few months behind in screening the applications, so expect it to be a while before you hear anything.

Amos,

How long ago did you apply? I applied on 8/31 and haven't heard a thing. Still says screening on the online application. I have heard they are starting to interview people that submitted thier application in September though there is no way I can confirm this. I haven't updated my resume or anything in fear of it going to the bottom of the stack. It seems like the hiring is going to continue for the forseeable future.

Taylor-
I sent it in the first week of October. I also was going to try to update my numbers before I got the email.. but the only thing the online process allowed me to do was to re-apply.

Hey guys,

I just interviewed with and got hired by Expressjet on Monday 11-13-06. I applied on 8-15-06, Didn't here anything until 11-02-06 when I got the invite. They also moved my interview pool ahead one day from the 14th. No sweat, not complaining, I was already to go anyway. As for the people from September being invited, this could be true, but don't sweat it if you haven't heard anything yet they are pretty far behind because of all the applications. As for preparing for the interview, www.aviationinterviews.com is awesome, though I don't remember it being free, it is well worth the money. I joined in April and was more than prepared by May, before I even applied. When you get the reply things will happen very, very fast so if you aren't studying or aren't ready right now, get you a$$ in gear and get ready now before they reply.

I also bought a Jeppesen Mexico trip kit and the Jeppesen Chart training DVD. Both kind of expensive, but it got me the job!!!

Also, like the gouges say on www.aviationinterviews.com say, they are really looking for who you are not necessarily what you know. Relax, be yourself, and be honest. If you don't know something just admit it, they respect that a lot more than having smoke blown up there tailpipes.

Good luck, and best wishes. I trully hope you get hired. It can only raise my seniority number!!! No really we are all in this together, lets help each other out, right?

Mexican Jepps are no different than US Jepps. Just speed limits are a little different (250 at 10,000 AGL instead of MSL, 200 w/in 30 nm, etc) Don't waste your money. If you can get your hands on a Jepp chart legend you'll be set.

Congrats on getting the job, that was the easy part study up when you get to training we had two washouts and multiple ATR's:eek:
