Dude I wasnt insulting you, I was stating a fact. I personally don't think it was a great career move at all. I was not insulting you, its just that I do not think 1900 time is all that valuable other than for it to meet PIC minimums. Agian not insulting you, I just don't think 1900 time makes you all that competative in todays market. It appears you are not at Colgan so where are you flying the 1900 Commutair or MESA?

Don't let the size (or lack there of) of your ERJ be shadowed by your Ego! |
Ok we all get it you don't like, me But I was asking an honest question, was hoping I can get an honest answer:eek: If it was up to me I would be flying a yellow J-3 w/ Tundra tires ,but I don't see too many airlines where I can make a living flying those around do you? If I was concerned about my ego and the "size" of airplane I was flying I would'nt go to xjt I would of gone to GOJETS or MESA they fly BIGGER airplanes than me.

That airplane is a ton of fun to fly (speaking from very limited experience)... I love flying jets, but if QOL was there I would have no problem flying the 1900... or anything else for that matter. GA is where it's at! |
I flew a SAAB, if Colgan would of given me the 1900 I would of gladly flew that as well, I wasnt knocking the 1900.

The 1900 time can open a lot of doors for King Air jobs in the corporate and charter world... As for the airlines, I say get the hell out first chance you can!

Im pretty sure FlyerJosh has bashed me one o two times, but either way good post, I agree

This is probably the most entertaining thread I've come across in a long time.

These particular pilots saw an opportunity to take a short cut, get their turbine PIC, and they didn't care whose backs they stabbed in the process. They went there with the FULL knowledge that jumpseating would be incredibly difficult. My sympathy for their problems is limited.

I honestly think that most "pre-121" guys don't know too much about the regional airline industry to make educated decisions about what regional to work for. I knew Gojets was a bad airline simply based upon my buddies telling me they were, but if I didnt have them I probably wouldnt know any better. I will say that any company you are potentially going to work for you should do some research, and with a quick search on google I am sure you would find some not so nice things to say about Gojets which would make one wonder. When people say it was their only choice I feel that is somewhat inaccurate. Most of them probably did'nt want to go do the Turbo-prop thing and GOJETS offred them that SJS of a job so they took it, only later to find out that most other regional guys dislike them for alack of a better word. I think mainline guys could care less about the regional industry, hell I was jumpseating on a MAINLINE US AIR A-321 the CA never even heard of COLGAN! I had some guys in my new-hire Expressjet class that had no clue who/what GOJETS was about, niave? I think so but I guess thats just the reality.
