If I don't go home alive then I have failed! I could give a flying s@@t about the 50 people who have some complaint about how they just defied the laws of physics and arrived at their destination in 1/4 of the time had they driven in a crazy snow storm!

So if she had stroked your ego and said "Nice landing Captain!(regardless of how many stripes on your shoulder) Those were challenging conditions! What was the crosswind component?" , then you'd still be with us?

If I paid for that flight Id be a lot more unhappy than I am. If you're that ashamed of your company thenyou should quit.

If there is any hiccup in a flight the AWAC captain comes out of the cockpit and states that "He can no longer live with his shame". He then performs Seppuku or ritual Japanese suicide right there by the galley. Two cuts to the abdomine and one to the throat. The FO then decapitates him with the crash ax. That is some pride.....

They are. But 9E eventually losing all of their -200 puts them under their quota by a few.

I think about this often flying for a regional. I wish I could display more pride in my company but being discouraged to even say the name of your regional airline really puts in perspective what the regional airlines are. We are United Express, Delta Connection, etc.... It doesn't even feel like a company. It feels like an independent contractor.

I'm guessing...JUST a guess...that it was that situation that made him stop giving a sh-t about passengers beyond getting them to their destination safely.

Exactly. I've had too many conversations with the flying public who are complain that $400 to fly from DC to Chicago for the weekend is highway robbery. When confronted with the suggestion to drive, the response is usually a combination/variation of "I don't want to drive all day Friday and Monday", "Gas is too expensive", and "I can't afford a hotel". So you want to fly halfway across the country in a sixth of the time it would take to drive...but you don't want to pay a penny more for that value added service? Welcome to Wal-Mart's America: Where everybody knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.

I dont get it.....if you hate your job so bad, why dont you just quit. Mcdonald's is hiring.

Attitudes like, "i dont care as long as i dont die" do not deserve to be in this profession. Perhaps it is those attitudes that have caused the quality of life and pay to go down.

Think about it, if you were a boss and your employee was constantly whining and complaining, would you give a sh!t about them???

This is a two way street guys......
