Summary of REPUBLIC AIRWAYS HOLDINGS INC - Yahoo! Finance

Short term contract, but interesting that delta keeps pushing for more chq flying.

Its like the pilots who fly these planes don't even have any loyalty to the brand that they're operating under.

Really too bad for their passengers. I'd want to be riding on a plane where the people working on it cared about their product.

So the pilots made this decision?

pilots dont decide in feed contracts, pilots dont decide on quality of product.
if the pax's get there alive, the pilot did his job. the rest is managements responsibility not the pilots.

That may or may not be true but I commute regularly on a chq product and I can honestly say that between commuting and a lot of deadheading I can say that I rarely if ever see such lack of pride in product that I see on chq. If I paid for that flight Id be a lot more unhappy than I am. If you're that ashamed of your company thenyou should quit.

I am not sure I am being paid enough to care if the passengers get there alive, at this point if I make it home alive that is good enough..... ( there is still some ever fleeting and Belgian beer enabled sarcasam there)

You have about summed up my reason for never returning to the airlines! I could give a crap about passengers anymore! What did it for me was some woman exclaiming "thanks for not crashing" as she deplaned! This was after a very bumpy approach and a greased crosswind landing!

If I don't go home alive then I have failed! I could give a flying s@@t about the 50 people who have some complaint about how they just defied the laws of physics and arrived at their destination in 1/4 of the time had they driven in a crazy snow storm!

Posts like these make me laugh. I see the exact same attitude from all regional carriers. Its the business we are in. Why would any regional crew have pride in the "product"? Its only about getting from point A to B. Thats all a regional is supposed to do.

Suggested response: "'Not Crashing' is all you paid for." :p
