US Airways Application Invitation

Anyone else get this from Airways? Did they stop hiring and are now reopening it?

"We are happy to announce that we have new opportunities for the Pilot - First Officer position at US Airways.

If you are still interested in the position with US Airways, please follow the link below in order to update your application and resume for our review. You will not be able to upload multiple supporting documents to your application. Please upload any attachments as one document to your profile."

theHub 02-15-2013 01:23 PM

Looks like everyone who is "under review" got it.

feltf4 02-15-2013 01:27 PM

I got it as well

PinnacleFO 02-15-2013 01:27 PM

I know people who have already been working at usair for 4 months that got this email.

.

LOL! The wonder of computers. Here I was feeling "special" for all of about 2 seconds.

lakehouse 02-15-2013 01:57 PM

I only did the first part of the application a month or two ago and never finished the rest. I got it.

Diver Driver 02-15-2013 01:58 PM

I got it as well. Was a good reminder to update everything. Hoping to get a call this time around.

CriticalMach 02-15-2013 02:31 PM

I only thought of US Airways, I got it!

shadyops 02-15-2013 02:51 PM

Does this mean you have to reapply?

stamps 02-15-2013 02:52 PM

Weird. I'm still "under review" and didn't get it.

mooney 02-15-2013 04:04 PM

I got the "thanks but no thanks" email a few weeks ago when that round went out and got the "apply again" email today...

MyMamma 02-15-2013 04:43 PM

I am sure this has been addressed before but I didn't see a place for the 3 references. After I submitted my app (third time now) I got the email about information required in the online application including work history, gaps in employment and 3 references? contact information. Did you guys see what I am talking about.

Are you talking about the end, where you upload resume and references? I think the change is that you have to upload everything as one document.

Same here. Still under review since august.

CAPTAINPCL 02-15-2013 05:49 PM

Some people that I know only had to re-apply, most of their information was still there. However, I had to re-submit everything...

McNugent 02-15-2013 05:53 PM

Most frustrating application ever. Somehow I can't edit my resume, ended up deleting it to start over and now it won't let me put a new one in there. I tried their resume builder which really jacked everything up. Anyone else have problems with this?

Oh yeah, I'm using a mac. Not sure if that's aggravating the problem.

I agree, this application process is very frustrating. For me, the questions about flight hours seem ridiculous..

Did you try uploading your resume as a PDF? It works much better than Doc or RTF.

yoflyzone 02-15-2013 11:37 PM

Having the same issue with not being able to update resume. Please advise if anyone has a fix for this. I have emailed US Air tech support several times and no response....

I had difficulty uploading my resume so I used the resume builder. I saw no place to add references.

Slim11 02-16-2013 03:00 PM

I received a rejection from them while in training for my current job. I was a little surprised to get it. It gave me something to do while sitting reserve.

MatchPoint 02-16-2013 03:16 PM

There is a separate references section that's part of the application. The upload is only for resumes and LORs.

This is a standard email, everyone should get it.

The email mentioned that there was only one place to add attachments such as resumes, lor's, etc. I am assuming that you were supposed to add the LOR's to the resume when you attached it at the end of the application. At least that is what I did.

Thedude 02-16-2013 07:10 PM

With the new iteration, does it give you the ability to go back and add or correct stuff? ie upload a LoR.

PeezDog 02-17-2013 07:40 AM

So does completing a full initial aircraft training and qualification program mean a entirely new airplane or an AQP checkride, or a type ride? My guess is a new aircraft?

rightside02 02-17-2013 07:55 AM

The email I got didn't mention anything about LOR's . Nor did I see any place I could attach one during any one of my 3 applications. What am I missing

Anyone able to help me out and point me in the right direction. ???

feltf4 02-17-2013 12:07 PM

Awwwwww they sent me and e-mail begging for my times to be updated! And then they send a thanks but you stink letter! All with in 3 days! Just like the last date I went on.

Meatballs if I were the pilot recruiter at Delta, Id hire you just for your username, so long as for your sim ride during the interview, you kept reporting moderate turbulence in the otherwise very smooth air.. Much like it is on the line.... Good luck at spirit..

Karma 02-17-2013 07:03 PM

Why is this in the regional section?

theHub 02-17-2013 07:09 PM

They sent out "thanks but no thanks" e-mails since the re-update invites went out?

SkyMall 02-18-2013 06:28 AM

I got it, too. I'm happy where I am, probably not going to update. Good luck everyone!

CAPTAINPCL 02-18-2013 11:44 AM

Dam!! Just re-applied the other day and I already received my thanks but no thanks email.

Probably because pilots at major airlines aren't applying to work for US Airways.

texaspilot76 02-18-2013 02:31 PM

Question about US Airways application:

During the 100 question part, I answered one incorrectly. I tried to go back and change it, but it would not let me. I'm afraid I will be looked past based on the incorrect response. It was sort of a misleading question. Any way to remedy this?

Probably only during the next round.

Was it the "I certify that I have not had a accident..." Yes, No question? That one makes me read it again each time.

If you received the same email that everyone else got, then it did say the following: "You will not be able to upload multiple supporting documents to your application. Please upload any attachments as one document to your profile."

Whether you received it or not, it would be best to make one document and then sign in to update your resume. In the past, this feature hasn't worked and it always shows your old resume. Hopefully they have fixed that.

The good news for you is that most people are under the assumption that the initial screening is done by an outside company without any weight being given to LORs.

PDTPILOT 02-19-2013 05:26 AM

Just curious, how long did it take to get the "thanks but no thanks"?

theHub 02-19-2013 06:19 AM

So people were invited to re-apply this latest time and then they got the rejection letter?
