I'm not sure why the F9 guys are so giddy about this proposal. In it management does allow for captains to bid over to Airbus FO seats. I thought FAPA was sitting around the camp fire with these guys in a group hug or something.

I had a lot of FO's call me up and tell me they are going to vote yes so they can get a $5 raise. I'm telling them to vote no but they think it will be several years before anything better is presented or years before released for a strike. One FO who is very junior told me it could cost her $30,000 over the years if there are too many no votes since she feels a better contract wouldn't be in place in the next 4-5 years if this is turned down. She has been telling CA's to not screw her over and no vote because they won't get a better offer for years. After this offer is voted out then negotiations start over from scratch I believe, somebody has been paid off.

3.K.1. A pilot who is available for duty for the full month will be guaranteed a minimum of 75 hours of flight pay per month. 2. A pilot who is unavailable for part of a month will have his guarantee prorated (except for paid vacation or paid sick leave). 3.M.4. K.1 and K.2 above will no longer apply upon implementation of FAA flight crewmember duty and rest regulations promulgated in 2012. Also, they want to start co-basing and anyone based in DCA or LGA will understand the huge increase in cost that will be. I don't know how I would be able to make a 2-hour callout to BWI let alone afford the gas. |

Exactly. This rule would work fine when bargaining under the NLRA, but it makes zero sense under the RLA. More proof that the trucker's union needs to get out of the business of representing pilots.
How's that working out? Lessee... UAL Senior pilots vs. ALPA - ALPA lost UAL Junior pilots vs. ALPA- looking pretty bad, same charges as the seniors TWA vs. ALPA - ALPA lost, looks like that'll be about $1.5 billion plus AirTran vs. ALPA- ??? Maybe you'd be better off not listening to your handlers. So far their track record is pretty poor. Seems the IBT Airline Division is run from the bottom up...by pilots who control their own destiny. They get a chance to vote a deal up or down. Unlike ALPA who will refuse to let you vote and then cram a deal down your throat and then have their lawyers and Jalmer Johnson tell you to ratify the deal or they cut off your funding. (Another difference...IBT pilot groups KEEP the bulk of their money, as opposed to ALPA who demands you send it ALL to them). You know PCL...like you guys did to your pilots. And now you have a DFR! |

How does that work? If you were awarded a 70 hour line, you'd only be paid for 70 hours? What about a reserve who isn't used and credits 40 hours but is available for the full month?
We have a winner! A big pay raise means nothing without monthly guarantee. As a reserve, there is a chance you wont get a paycheck. This one item is all this fo needs to say hell no. Nothing else can make up for this extreme defeciency. |

There are even more snippets in there as well that are huge concessions. You would think that this is a 1113 offer not one of a company that is making a profit and never declared bankruptcy. They are trying to give us the worst contract in the history of the airlines. I don't know how the mediator can't see that this is complete garbage. Has she even read it? |

She obviously didn't read the rest of the LBFO and simply stopped after the pay rates. She needs to read the rest and realize that it is worse than the contract we currently have. You will still get your 75 hours line guarantee every month unless you time out early in the year then you won't get paid for the rest of the year. They are trying to take away what's in the current contract, since timing out will be easier with the new rest rules, where if you hit 1000 hours at the end of November then you take December off and still get paid 75 hours. |

Thats incorrect. If they said M1 and M2 no longer apply upon implementation, you would be spot on. By deleting K1 and K2, it eliminates min guarantee completely. It may be a typo, but its there nonetheless. If this contract is voted in, there will be no guarantee once we get new rest rules. This is worse than any bankruptcy contract ive seen. |
