How well would this course relate to another field (IT)? Or is it too aviation sided? Just thinking the TMAAT and other q's might be helpful for personal enrichment.
Just thinking, for $19 bucks it might be a good way to kill a furlough day. It wouldn't help you. Its an aviation knowledge based prep more than anything else. Its basically a question bank with all the questions on various airlines written test. |
Here's a link if anyone's interested.
Sheppard Air Flight Test 5.0 Prep Software ATP, Flight Engineer, Mil Comp - FAA Airline Transport Pilot Not a bad investment if you really want the job. |
meh
No i tried it in nov 2012. As for interview prep i didnt think it helped. Mostly TMAAT questions anyway. The tech questions were fairly easy and basic.
You must have used them in the early days. All the questions have explanantions and FAR numbers both. They do require to sign in with each use but the program is designed to help you make a high score and nothing more. Their program is not flashy because it makes it cost more to develop. They are a mom and pop type business not a big company like ASA, Gleim, etc..

If you have already purchased their ATP software, they will give you a discounted rate on the regional Interview prep. If you interview and call them back with feedback from the written, they will refund your money. Call and ask those questions, they will be honest about what their software is good for.
I took the TSA written, I had seen 99% of the questions ahead of time. With their other courses, I also took the mil comp commercial + ATP + CFI + FEX over the course of about a month, and never scored less than a 98 on any of them. They are plugged in. Always a good idea to call and ask questions. Even ask them about where to go to take the ATP or translating military flight hours. |
The interview prep is great as is the ATP preparation.
Didn't see a question on the written for the airline I interviewed with that wasn't on the prep. It isn't supposed to prepare you for TMAAT questions. |
I think it was a $20 investment. This is for the written portion only! Again, written portion only. Won't help you a lick for the face to face portion. Won't help your interview skills. Won't help the sim eval. Won't help for an approach plate quiz. It isn't a dungeons and dragons game where you are ready for the interview when you reach level 7 wizard.
It is an 800 question test bank targeting THE WRITTEN PORTION of a couple of the regionals. TSA - I had seen about every question ahead of time ExpressJet - Not even close to helpful for any portion of the testing. Sheppard Air advertises that it is good for: Mesa, Go, PSA, Trans States, Commutair , Silver Airways, Republic & Spirit. Any others, you might want to study up on the subjects they list in the interview invitation email. |
I used Shepard Air for my ATP. If you score below a 90% they will give you your money back. I studied for two weeks using Shepard Air and passed. Great product!

I have used both. The advantage of Sheppard seems to be that they are focused on the questions most likely to be on the actual ATP Part 121 Airplane exam. Whereas on Dauntless, they have a larger question bank that draws from all ATP tests. So with Sheppard you have to study fewer questions.
On Sheppard, the newer questions tended to have less explanation, and the Weather portion especially seems to have a lot of "refer to the book" explanations. Dauntless had very detailed explanations on all the questions. |
works great for commute air and sliver. I know that much. Customer service is A+++++
|
I used Sheppard Air for the ATP and it worked great. But just so you know their method is more about memorization as opposed to actually working out a problem. As long as you're okay with that.
