Eagle Future
This is what I was told from a Usair employee today.....they were told by their management that our L Eagle will be parted out and shut down. According to them, they have several more better ( and cheaper ) companies than ours to do the flying..
It is supposedly to start with us stop hiring fa's.... offer leaves of absence , then the emb's will stop being painted, pilot hiring stops, emb's all go away, then all CRJ's are sent to another carrier and the remaining pilots and fa's are terminated.... ( sound familiar ???) I know everyone will call BS on this one..... But it was very surprising to hear from this Particular employee... Take it for what its worth.... 1. yes they indeed stopped hiring FA's. In fact they are offering LOA's for the month of April. 2. Not painting all emb's. 3. No fleet plan, no plan whatsoever, not even a new name. |

 Why do people even post this ridiculous made up garbage?
Tell him an Eagle employee overheard some higher up in management say they were loading up USair planes on a cargo ship next week and dumping them into the Caribbean to form an artificial reef for tourism. Apparently it's more profitable than flying them. Everyone will be fired by the end of the month. Sorry.. |
Because he has nothing better to do with his life.
|
It's on Eagle Lounge and Talk Airline too.
|
Unless your friend is Doug Parker no reason to post this info.

You guys! Come on. How can you discredit such a valuable source of information such as RJ! He shown to be nothing but a wealth of knowledge, he has great communication skills. He shows nothing but the utmost respect for his peers as well as genuine concern and respect for those on this form. He is also always there to answer peoples questions and respond with constructive comments. Take for example, yesterday I posted about not being sure I wanted to leave my current stable job. He respectfully responded with, "Already washed out before training?". What a gem you are RJ.........
Can we end this thread before it gets out of hand? |

Heard it on a couple forums the class size is like 30 guys!! |
Eagle Future
Who exactly is going to cover 3000+ pilots worth of flying? Even spread out over 4-5 other regionals is a lot to cover.
|
I needed a good laugh today. Thanks!

Wow! I'm glad someone's friend of a friend at US Airways has the full inside scoop on Eagle, I was almost completely blindsided!
Give me a f$cking break. |
My original post was not to add to the validity of the post. It was just let people know the rumor is going around. Personally, I think Doug P. has enough on his plate. One hears all kinds of rumors going around. But, if someone posts a condescending remark, and has their facts wrong. You can fill in the rest.

EL quoted Talk Airline who quoted APC who quoted EL...and around and around the Internet rumors go. If you are taking any of it seriously to the point you are checking time stamps on three different forums then you need to go outside some and breath fresh air. |
I see the thread was started here today at 6:24am. And it was real difficult to check three different forums. Less than two minutes, I guess we can add lazy to your list of attributes.

Keep digging yourself in deeper. At this point I'm still not sure I should be laughing or feeling sorry for you. Turn off the computer and go have a beer. Make some friends. Talk to some girls. It is a beautiful world out there. You are letting the interweb influence your mood too much. |

It is true that in the RFP process there were offers to do ALL the eagle flying
This does square with the OP'er |

spoiler, when you say offers, by whom are you referrimg to? AA making the offer or the regioanls aplying for the feed make the offer to do all of eagle flying?
|
One thing to consider as well, is that on the same day the company sent LOA to FA for April they announced the CFI bridge program. Rumors are rumors, but there is so much going on that is hard to tell.

only until it come true.
LAX BASE CLOSED. LAX FLYING TO SKW. DFW FLYING TAKEN BY EJT. RAH 47 E175 AIRCRAFT FOR AA FEED. RAH REPLACING EAGLE IN ORD AS PER BK FILING BY AA. SJU CLOSED. Yeap, lock this thread until it becomes true., like all the rest have. |

and the 1000 pilots per 30% will come from which flight school?
and why would aa give that much control to 3 feeders which is if you believe aa management there purpose to diversify to 4/5 feeders to keep costs down? You might as well keep the majority of flying with the owned feeders. When the contracts start to be coming up for renewal at the non owned feeders then the story will be known. The RAH 12 year deal was for RAH to finance the aircraft using the 12 year feed contract as collateral. but stanger things in this industry have happened. |
Does anyone know if GoJet has a non-compete agreement in ORD similar to Skywest's?
|
One thing to keep in mind is that all of Eagle's capacity doesn't need to be replaced. Over at DCI Delta is reducing the overall size of the regional fleet and replacing it with larger RJs.
AA could do the same thing, but reward large RJs to other carriers while parking a larger number of Eagle ERJs |
more power to them. but i have to ask, then why is aa/ae doing so much to get new hires when all they have to do is let attrition and retiring aircraft take care of the pesky problem of eagle.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how does Parker get out of the aircraft leases? Can he use the bankrupcy to do that? And when they exit bankryptcy, dont those leases stay in place? I think their is alot of paranoia around here about nothing. AA cant lose the feed eagle provides, if even they really want to, which we dont know.
