I agree, but it's very likely they are all going to be military, or those that are well connected. Delta is showing that there are perks if you take concessions and play nice; I use the term "perks" very loosely here.
Military pilots get more "cold calls" without recommendations than civilian do. In fact, the only civilian pilot that got a cold call that I know of was JP from 9E. |

Sorry to sidetrack a little bit, and in the interest of not starting a new thread, can anyone help with a 9E jumpseat question.
I need to go from YYZ Toronto to DTW. On the date I'm looking, they are all 9E operated flights. Can I jumpseat? I know sitting in the jumpseat physically isn't allowed, but how can I get a standby/jumpseat listing so I can get a cabin seat? Any number to call in advance? Or do I just go the Delta checkin counter? Internationally speaking, my experience at the counters usually hasn't been too great, with agents not knowing what a jumpseat listing is, and the standard response of no one can sit in the flight deck jumpseat. Anyone know what the tax amount is and where/how I can pay it? Thanks!!! |
