Maybe you all should ask RJ Pilot about his "sources". This rumor only ever existed in Eagle Lounge, and the thread on that forum was locked and disappeared later that day.

Only here in Rj Pilot's playground (APC forum) is he allowed to run around saying whatever he wants.

Case and point: This thread. Still open.

Meaning what, they are hiring at the same rate as in previous years? In the other thread ("Eagle to hire 600+ in 2013") it was discussed they are at about 90 new faces during the first half of 2013, which I guess is about normal for them.

American Eagle is Hiring Pilots

I called recruitment to see what the deal is. They said that they are hiring and never stopped. The 60 day thing is if someone is turned down, they can re-apply after 60 days. They said they are hiring as many as possible!

My friend just got this email today:

6/19/2013

Dear ********* ,

American Eagle Airlines is currently hiring pilots! If you are interested in applying for a position, please contact us at
[email protected] or (817)963-1064.

We fly the EMJ-135/140/145 and the CRJ-700. Our bases are ORD, DFW, MIA, and JFK/LGA. For more information on this position, please visit
http://www.americaneaglecareers.com/Jobs/Pilots.html or find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/AEPilotRecruitment.

American Eagle is currently offering a $5,000 bonus for new hire pilots. In addition, all new hire pilots are extended an interview with American Airlines in the future.

We look forward to speaking with you!

Pilot Recruitment
American Eagle Airlines, Inc.

I called recruitment. They said when someone is turned down, they can re-apply after 60 days. THEY ARE HIRING! They never stopped. It sounds like your friend misunderstood his rejection letter.

Cujo posted the same thing on Eaglelounge then deleted it when he figured out he was wrong. Shouldn't this whole thread be deleted?

bretthull 06-19-2013 07:50 AM

but...but RJ said they stopped. Are you telling me he was wrong?? It can't be.

I never understand what they mean by this. It makes no sense for a company that uses a passive application/resume system such as AirlineApps, which they use. Exactly how are you supposed to go about reapplying?

Dear AE recruitment,

I interviewed in April XX of this year but unfortunately was not offered a position with AE. During my interview I was informed that I could reapply for a position after 60 days. I have updated my airline apps and look forward to the possibility of joining the AE team.

Ok good suggestion. Not really a reapplication, but maybe it will get them to look at me again.

Just update your airline apps and keep doing it every weekend.

Just curious, why would you want them to look at your app again?

RJ is the definition of a troll. To your comment he will likely respond with why come to eagle go to SKW or RAH, they are growing.. we are shrinking the world is going to end.

Not trolling, but you just took my words out of my mouth. How many RJ's will AE park by next year?
Check the court documents.

Why don't you tell me! Let me guess, all airplanes will be parked and we will all be collecting food stamps?!?!

If we are parking so many airplanes and we are hiring except for the few hours your source told you and then we went back to hiring in full force. We have many more FO than CA and with airplanes leaving and people not flowing I don't see why we need to hire so I don't know why the airline is spending so much money on recruitment. But you already said that you were leaving after claiming I will ride this ship to the ground as long as the checks cash. The doom and gloom is working, as days pass the more senior guys become eager to move along... But somehow we get 25 or so suckers a month.

They can't and wont upgrade if they cant get new bodies on board.
Im not making up the parking of RJ's. Read the court documents, there is your fleet plan. Not many sr guys accepting the flow according to the jet net flowthru website.

PilotJ3 06-19-2013 08:26 PM

I interviewed with eagle in April.. I was in an interview class of 6, all six were sent home with "reapply in 60 days" it's been 60 days, no joy.
Did you updated all your airline apps?

Aren't you going to Mesa?

The jetnet flow website is for the 824, no for the guys with AA numbers.

Did you ever get the "sorry there was a bug and we reset the website" hi6?

After the last thread I wouldn't have called you either!

RJ Pilot 06-20-2013 04:54 AM

Mesa over Eagle, there you have it folks.

Obviously there is a reason for not being called back.

RJ Pilot 06-20-2013 09:55 AM

Yeah, keep bashing the guy going to Mesa. I bet that in the end, he will get his pic time quicker than some of you here.

surfnski 06-20-2013 10:46 AM

He doesn't need the money. He just wants to strut around DCA and tell everyone he works for "US Air".

Pretty sure its only been the ERJ in DFW/NY/MIA. A few new hires where awarded ORD with the most recent vacancy bid though.

RJ Pilot 06-30-2013 12:38 PM

lastest New hire class. A whopping 6 bodies. Massive movement around the corner!

astec 06-30-2013 12:55 PM

Actually it was 5 new hires

bretthull 06-30-2013 12:56 PM

Wasnt the last class a slammed pack with 7 new hires?

astec 06-30-2013 01:12 PM

The last new hire class... 6/24... Had 5 new hires

Well he got it from EL, so it must be 6 :D

RJ Pilot 06-30-2013 01:56 PM

5 Newbies? Wow! At this point it's in everyone's best interest that we shrink substantially and accelerate the RJ retirements quickly. I think that's DP plan.

PilotGuy77 06-30-2013 02:16 PM

Why so few?
