I did the AE interview 2 months before retiring from the Navy and they kicked me out like you read about :o I did the sim, had no issues then they asked me to leave but would not give me a reason so who knows. I was hired by all the other Regionals I interviewed with, PSA, Republic and AWAC. My buddy was also about to retire from the Navy, he was booted too but had already been hired by Skywest and now, he is in training for United :D Good luck to you though, they seem to have a good rep and some good bases.

Good luck.... Eagle is still a great place to be no matter what the naysayers day... We have tons of ex military also, especially recently starting... Get in, interview, and get to class!

I really hope Parker treats you guys well and drops the concession requests. Would you guys strike?

There are at least 5-7 steps before a pilot group is even allowed to think about striking. And I guarantee if eagle does strike, they'll be torn apart wayyyy faster than comair. Lets just hope the pilot shortage will give us some leverage against the usual management tactics.

Ask Republic pilots if they will strike. It seems the NMB will not allow pilots to consider a strike.

Very true-Someone has paid the NMB off to keep denyin the release. Or they just hate pilots...

I have an interview scheduled for a few weeks from now.......I am a soon to be retired military pilot with 5300+ TT and 3500+ PIC. .........

This makes it clear who my competition is.

It should also make it clear to everyone that we are not in any kind of pilot shortage.

This interview and the requisite competition seems way over the head of anyone who's not prior 121 or military. At least us non-prior 121 guys can go and provide the filler so you're more likely to get hired. ;)

Why are some regionals paying $5000 if they have no problem gettin applicants? Also why does rah pay $500 referral bonuses ?($1000 for Q candidates). There is some issue driving these expenditures-right ?

I would take the 1500hr CFI over the retiring military guy any day. They know those military types are just finding a place to stay current until United, Delta, etc, call. Can't blame them one bit either, but if I were a hiring guy at a regional, they'd be the last ones getting hired. And that's not a knock to you military guys.

Here we go again. $5000 is pocket change, salt peanuts, walking around money, disposable income when you are an airline looking at serious labor costs such as

• training and simulator time
• employee retention (loss) issues
• larger salary raises each year for employees
• starting salary increases to equal similar professions
• COL raises
• performance bonuses, I could go on.

BozoPilot, you regard what amount to petty lures as serious evidence there is a shortage of some type, but I totally disagree they are anything like that. They are simply cash lures hung out like cheap jewelry to lure people who are on the fence into doing something for short term advantage with no implication to the long term. Dime store candy. One-time retractable offers. When you see a 25% across the board salary raise for all line pilots working for the firm, or a 12.5% raise if you like to argue numbers, or maybe 5%- THEN you have evidence of a genuine line pilot shortage.

Yep. I am surprised how pervasive this delusion about a pilot shortage is. A few cheap, retractable incentives pop up at a few firms, and the downtrodden masses shout "pilot shortage" from the mountaintops. Pure baloney as far as I am concerned. It is wishful thinking driven by loads of prior hardship.

Not true at all. I think it is just follow the paperwork directions they give u exactly. If u do the sim and fly it well but don't use the exact profile/callouts that won't work. I know two people that made it through both non military, not prior 121
