I'm still waiting for that answer on what a "typical pilot is" and why you aren't "typical"

What else did you expect? I am new to this community and honestly this place is full of miserable, bickering pilots who constantly cut each other down in hopes of making the next guy feel just as bad about himself.
"Fun" and "trying to have a good time" have been placarded INOP on this site. Regardless - welcome and don't let the tools, trolls, and self proclaimed deities get to you. :) |

I though the OP was saying he has a sense of humor since some of you obviously don't. But I like your reasoning better. |
I spent 4 years training out of MLB and those controllers are cool dudes (most of them). About 80% of the time they deal with Turkish kids who can barely speak English, so I'm sure this controller was pleased to have a little 'Merican classic line like "killin me smalls" thrown in there. I remember if you heard Mike on the freq and threw in a "go Maple leafs" he'd usually give you whatever you wanted. Anyone know if he's still there? Anyways, kudos to the crew. |

You guys are all butt hurt over one word made a big deal about it and look at you, crying like because I said one word. Clearly despite MY opinion I didn't mind the jargon, as I had taken note that it sounded as though they were having a good time. THE POINT OF THE POST. Jeez I can only imagine what you'd say to a check pilot that had to critique your flight.... Let me think about it...... Nothing. It's NOT that a big deal. Quit treating it as such. |

 I wasn't talking to you. Grow up.
Relax cowboy, the reply wasn't pointed generally in your direction. But being that you made a remark referring to the people who thought that was unprofessional, your comment was directed to me. I'm grown. Quit getting bent over the small stuff, this was supposed to be a feel good post, but the keyboard bullies and the misery crew smelled blood and had to eat... This is why we can't have good things folks! In regards to the people who were picking up what I was laying down...Thanks, wish there were more like you on here..Have a blessed day ladies n gents... |
[QUOTE=snippercr;1438899]No, there needs to be complete and total radio professionalism!
None of this "Check in" or "With you" garbage. It's not "Clearance to Chicago" it's "IFR to Chicago" Really, IFR? When are you ever filed other than? I think clearance Is adequate Clarence? |
Thank you.

Shoot, as an FO I flew with a post-pubescent captain who had never heard of such "oldies" as Blazing Saddles or Mr. Mom.
These kids nowadays...... Get off my lawn!!!! |

It's interesting that when we first start flying, some of us at uncontrolled fields, we were terrified of talking on the radio. Obviously those controller Gods will be able to breath fire right into the cockpit at the slightest transgression. Then, when we start flying for a living and start feeling our oats, the first cocky attitudes start to creep in and we think we are "cool" with our cute little comments and non standard phraseology (we all did it). Then toward the end of your career, thoroughly disgusted with having to read everything back, you start to yearn for the time when the definition of the word "Rodger" was practiced and understood?

Ok, looks like we've exhausted this topic and I'm going to give Doug here the last word.
