KMLB Tower "BlueStreak 202 are you ready for departure you have 4 mins"
BlueStreak 202 - "I was born ready sir"
MLB Tower - "Uh BlueStreak 202 slow down your taxi for the warrior in front of you
BlueStreak 202 -"Your killing me smalls!"
So who's the jett jockey swinging the gear lever?
We had a laugh while we were doing our runup today.
Anyways, although a bit unprofessional, you lightened up the mood as well. Glad to hear your having fun out there.Blue skies and fly safe!

Pilots are allowed to have personalities. As long as safety was not compromised I find the "unprofessional" portion of this out of line.
Also putting in the flight number sucks a little.
That being said at least you could laugh about it. The monotony of this job needs to be broken up now and again.

If people are going to be that over the top with *professional* communication then 'born ready' and 'killing me smalls' ought to make the grade too don't you think?
Or - we could all just take a slightly more relaxed outlook and be reasonable.
Nah.........this is the internet.

No, there needs to be complete and total radio professionalism!
None of this "Check in" or "With you" garbage.
It's not "Clearance to Chicago" it's "IFR to Chicago"
If O'hare ground says "Tango Whiskey Echo Alpha Hotel Uniform Alpha-bridge cross 4L give way to the second united on Alpha" I better hear that whole clearance read back verbatim - even if it means stepping on the controller while he gives taxi instructions to 5 other aircraft.
It's "Niner" not "nine" "Tree" not "three" and "FIFE" not "five"
Oh, you are out of "Flight level 24.3 for 280"? I didnt know we had decimal level flight levels!
Make sure you let that guy know he is on guard that accidentally called in range! Make sure you advise him to check his frequency.
Who is Casey center?
Where in the pilot/controller glossary is "a little nibble every now and then" an adequate definition of turbulence?

So maybe not unprofessional as I can recognize he was having a good time, but maybe a wee bit too laxed on the freq.
And I'm 26 still very young at heart and not your typical pilot either. Just to me was unexpected, but refreshing as well to hear it. We a have a right to have personalities but at the end of the days its serious business....But the post wasn't about professionalism the post was to let whoever was on freq, you put a couple of smiles on some people's faces on the ground and keep enjoying what you do!

What's a typical pilot? And why aren't you typical? And "too lax" on kmlb tower...not exactly SoCal/ny approach. I'm pretty sure there is room between transmissions in there for a wise crack. But that's just me...

And what's "laxed" about pushing a button and opening your mouth.
