It's not until one starts flying in countries when the primary language isn't English that you truly begin to appreciate the importance of standardized phraseology.

Call me anal, but with regards to the original poster, comments like those fall under the category of "it's better to keep your mouth shut and have people think you're stupid than to open your mouth and confirm it."

Geez bunch of professionals here. How about some of you shut your fingers and stop being tough guys behind the keyboards! Wish I had a gif for this! Go back to being robots because a funny comment to lighten up the mood is too much to handle.

Oh c'mon people. A little insert on the radio here and there keeps our profession light hearted and upbeat, especially at a small delta airport. There's a time and a place for everything. And it's timing was perfect.

To those who don't like it...loosen your pants, the airplane will still fly.

You don't think pilots make little comments overseas? They crack jokes too. A coworker was having trouble understanding the clearance from a Chinese controller. After about the third time asking, a Chinese accent came on the radio and said" ha,ha,ha.. New guy". Pretty funny to hear it.

One "cute" comment is ok but with every other transmission it's just annoying.

Okay so for the ones with an open mind, brain, and sense of humour. Can somebody tell me the main point of me even making this post?

Or is this where the keyboard bullies back me into a corner?

Was it about professionalism? Or was it me acknowledging the fact that he sounded like he was enjoying his job and that he put a few smiles on peoples faces.

Just as I completely understand the fact that we all have personalities, understand the fact that I have a right to an opinion.

As for the ones jumping down my throat on some of my word usage.Get a grip losen up the tie, and realize that even though in MY OPINION I thought it was a wee bit unprofessional, even I too had a laugh and was happy to hear a guy like on the radio.

I'm just glad this isn't 15 pages of whining that someone had their strobes on when taking the runway, in daylight none the less!

I'm just "checking in" here.

Thought I would add....
No hat or blazer you aren't professional either.
(Sarcasm)

I would rather have the MLB pilot as my f/o rather than some locked in a box, can't think for themselves, training dept stiff.
