I know right? Last time I checked, Melbourne, Florida was in the United States anyway. Not to mention O'hare, NYC, and LA are all notorious for using slang and local jargon. If all it takes is this guy poppin off with "youre killing me smalls" to get your panties in a bind...I bet youre a freaking blast on a four day.

This reminds me. Whenever someone keys up the mic to respond to ATC or whatever and they are obviously laughing, there needs to be a requirement to disclose the cause of such laughter.

I wanna laugh with you Holmes.

Perfect.

And have controllers get off the "land line".... When I'm choking on water and can't key the mic for a few seconds they're alllll up in our crap giving us 2nd and 3rd calls. I'll check in 5 times and get the "was on the land line." What....texting? Oh no angry birds. I understand.

Having flown in and out of KMLB for 5 years and having spent a lot of time up in the tower hanging with the controllers, an having been a teacher's assistant for one of the controllers who taught ATC at FIT, I can tell you that KMLB tower was probably feeding it right back to them. They are (with a couple of exceptions) a fun loving group in that cab. SEEEEEEEYA

Wash Center sounds like a dance club in the background most of the time! The land line must be a party line!

I spent 4 years training out of MLB and those controllers are cool dudes (most of them). About 80% of the time they deal with Turkish kids who can barely speak English, so I'm sure this controller was pleased to have a little 'Merican classic line like "killin me smalls" thrown in there. I remember if you heard Mike on the freq and threw in a "go Maple leafs" he'd usually give you whatever you wanted. Anyone know if he's still there? Anyways, kudos to the crew.

The same people who find this jargon "unprofessional" will be voting in favor of concessions (even though the company is making huge profits) to fly bigger, shinier jets. Watch them, it only gets "better"....

As I don't feel like multi-quoting, just like one has the right to a personality, one has a right to an opinion.

You guys are all butt hurt over one word made a big deal about it and look at you, crying like because I said one word.

Clearly despite MY opinion I didn't mind the jargon, as I had taken note that it sounded as though they were having a good time. THE POINT OF THE POST.

Jeez I can only imagine what you'd say to a check pilot that had to critique your flight....

Let me think about it......

Nothing.

It's NOT that a big deal. Quit treating it as such.

I'm still waiting for that answer on what a "typical pilot is" and why you aren't "typical"

What else did you expect? I am new to this community and honestly this place is full of miserable, bickering pilots who constantly cut each other down in hopes of making the next guy feel just as bad about himself.

"Fun" and "trying to have a good time" have been placarded INOP on this site.
