and what's better QOL Saab? FOr me, it's time at home with my wife. For you, it might be something else. You got the shaft at colgan, like some people do. Many others do not. Maybe you flew with some P*ssy captains that didn't have the cajones to tell scheduling that you weren't going to get screwed so often. I'm not sure and don't really care. If expressjet is the good fit for you, i'm glad to hear it.

Sounds like the NE Colgan is much different than the TX/COA Colgan. There is no such stuff here (repos, etc.)

And why aren't there more Saabs in United colors? That Captain America scheme is about enough to make me want to leave Colgan.

2 of the united planes are crap, 121 which is an "A" model and 196 an old bizex plane. Another one got pegged by a baggage cart at IAD a few weeks back, and will have to go through some major overhaul. Lost the right flap, busted the nacelle and right main pretty good. That leaves 4 planes in united colors for 6 bases. Some of the bases just suck more than others. I'm at one of those bases. Saabarooski was at another. Some bases have the same plane for a week, some go thru 4 planes a day. Diff bases = a diff colgan experience i suppose

is it 196 that smells like feet? I think it is.. but not sure

dingo222 12-05-2006 04:10 PM

yep, smells like locker room, lol

Just stay away from any base that has a "-town" in the name and you'll be fine. :)

Albany was the worst, a shame cause I liked to live up there it was fun, but yeah I have heard of guys in some bases that dont have any problems I hear PQI is one I dunno

dingo222 12-05-2006 04:58 PM

saab, thought u were headed to cleveland? You get EWR instead? EWR is a good base for expressjet from what I hear, I have 3 buds based there from expressjet. And, its closer to home for you. Cleveland is a dump! The only good thing about cleveland is the Flats!

Nonono. 196 Chuck's Junk smells like rancid movie theater popcorn mixed with rice and beans. Someone needs to fly that plane into a ditch really hard.

Face it Fellas Colgan is only good to build 121 time until you can get on with a better regional. Unless of course you like to repo busted airplanes after your 121 flying, I mean who wouldnt wanna sleep in the crew room at HEF???????????????????????????, or better yet have two rejected T/O on your first flight after IOE (yes it was part 91 as well) becuase the brilliant mechanics ddidnt know how to properly reconfigure the stupid CTOT system

When I was a ramp rat, I spent many overnights with broken 1900's in our hanger. One plane had a broken EFIS and it was decided that Colgan would send mechanics that didn't know how to fix avionics. So, after 10 hours of ramdomly pulling things apart in the nose and many phone calls later, they actually fixed the problem. Scary.........
